I was trying to describe to my younger cousin what a period actually feels like because he wanted to know, when my uncle cut in and told me to quiet down. saying no one wants to hear that disgusting female nonsense. He then went on that women are just weak and dramatic, completely inventing how bad the pain is just to get attention and make men feel sorry for them. I told a guy that 70% of women that suffer from breast cancer are abandoned by their male "partners". He replied that we women would simply have to pick a guy that fits the 30%. I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.

I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.

My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.

An 11 year old girl committed suicide after being bullied by kids at her school who told her they were going to call ICE to take her parents away so she would be all alone. 11 years old. Those children saw a Hispanic girl at their school and bullied her with the racist remarks they learned from their parents. Now a child is dead and a family is forever traumatized.

The school knew about the bullying but never informed her parents. They only found out about it after she had already passed and investigators informed them.

I will never understand how anyone could be so cruel to support an organization that is tearing families apart. This poor girl lived in fear thinking she was going to lose her family. The sick thing is I doubt the parents of those bullies even cared because that is the behavior they taught their children. Fuck ICE and fuck everyone who supports this.
