These photos I took in Shuklaphanta National Park (c. 1996), the beginning of my PhD field years. This park was less known, a balanced ecosystem & full of surprises. One morning, I followed a call in distress & found a Chital grabbed by a python. The next day, it was all gone!

Mercury is rising...toads have reappeared in our garden. I am looking forward to seeing at least a dozen toads bouncing around my gardens and cleaning the space😃🇳🇵
Striated Bulbul is one of the most attractive bulbuls in Nepal & is primarily found in the mid-hill regions. It's a resident of uncertain status, further research is required. Phulchoki IBA in the KTM valley, is one of the best places to observe this bird! (PC: Pratap Gurung)
