My Pentecostal ancestors and the aging Pentecostals who mentored me were mystics. The gifts were for them holy ground phenomena you did not mess with or subvert or take for granted. You never **used** them. Instead, they transfigured *us* in rare moments of sacred manifestation.
We must not confuse living out the way of Christ with the advancement of a religion. I find it hard to critique the way of Christ but I think Christianity as a religion needs constant critique and reformation. May this religion as a whole come back to its origin, a way.
