An excellent online staff meeting with @YKennedyMFL from @herts_languages this evening - looking at the high frequency and highly transferable language we might teach at KS2 - so children enjoy their languages learning but also know more and remember more… 👏👏👏

Meet Anne Peck, our new Head of Primary: Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Assessment at HFL Education!
Anne brings to her new role a wealth of experience, previously serving as a HFL Regional Team Lead for Primary Education Services, and as a District School Effectiveness Advisor (DSEA) for Watford, Stevenage, and Dacorum.
Anne's entire professional life has been rooted in education, beginning as a pupil and later a teacher in Hertfordshire schools. She started her career teaching Key Stage 2 and progressed to leading the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a large Hertfordshire school where she was lucky enough to have the opportunity to establish a Children’s Centre as part of the Sure Start programme. Her leadership skills were further honed during her six-year tenure as the headteacher of a small school in North Hertfordshire.
Outside of work, Anne cherishes spending time with her family, including her dog Rosie, and enjoys cooking, reading, and especially running. Anne's secret squirrel skill is that she has been an assistant Brownie leader known as 'Barn Owl' for over thirty years. She uses this role to guide young girls through fun, friendship, challenge, and adventure, helping them find their voices and discover their best selves. This commitment beautifully mirrors her professional dedication to empowering students, both inside and outside the classroom.
