Having gone to university in the US, done interfaith work with H1llel, AND majored in Global Studies with a focus on int'l politics in the Middle East, I cannot even BEGIN to describe how deeply tied Israel is to all US institutions. So much of their violence comes from the US-
A teacher was killed fighting to protect her kids and 3 of those little babies were still murdered. Special ed kids. Little ones with disabilities. The one in critical condition is a wheelchair user. The father who had to make the choice to kill another child - the shooter - will be traumatized for the rest of his life. This is not a cowboy movie where good guys wear white hats and bad guys wear black hats. This is a country bought and paid for by the NRA..
Can only quote tweet right now
My response would be:
Their ''trauma'' doesn't give them the right to support zionism, hindutva or any policy that harms muslims that haven't done a single thing to them.
What have girls in Azerbaijan done to them?
you may have listened to life goes on a nice sunny afternoon in 2024 so it would obviously not hit you the same as somebody who has just heard of yoongi's shoulder surgery. somebody isolated from the world, somebody working on the frontline as a healthcare provider.
I think white europeans get so much credit for resisting during ww1 and ww2 but in reality millions of moroccans, algerians, senegalese and other africans were in the first lines used as human shields.
And i've got family members who didn't make it back home because of this
TS fans have never watched a formerly lib friend turn republican and misogynist because her boyfriend is. it’s common, and it’s why she’s Like That now. travis changed her and they refuse to accept it
why does no one care about the fact that we're projected to run out of clean drinking water by 2039 because of how much water ai data centers use please stop using chatgpt y'all, i beg. you do not need a shitty looking cartoon of yourself, i promise. the planet is dying.
having now seen it, this box office flop genuinely breaks my heart. it's been a while since i've seen a movie this full of life. the artists behind it really put so much work into it and created a modern masterpiece. go and see this movie if you can. it deserves so much more
I thought it was actually pretty profound when Macklemore said this, and a good map for celebs. You gotta insist on your ability to learn things and to take responsibility for knowing them.
So just to summarize, venues will gladly host the racist slur-loving Morgan Wallen, repeated abuser Chris Brown, and proud Nazi supporter Kanye on tour, but draw the line at free speech they dislike? Cool. Cool. Cool.
Macklemore is speaking out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour, seemingly placing blame on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, saying that the billionaire rallied other stadium owners to ban him from performing at their venues:
“Ed is my friend. I've known him for 13 years.... I told Ed multiple times on the phone, our friendship can't change my responsibility to tell the truth about what happened [in Gaza]... Ed told me that Robert Kraft called him. We were scheduled to play Gillette Stadium later this month, which is owned by the Kraft Group. Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues....
Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words 'Free Palestine' and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, 'I don't take sides'....
I hope this isn't the end of my relationship with Ed. Thirteen years of friendship doesn't disappear because of one painful disagreement. I hope we both continue listening, studying what is happening in Palestine and wrestling with what neutrality means in a moment like this. My door will always be open to continuing that conversation....
I didn't need 10 shows from Ed. I needed 2. Two chances to stand in front of 90,000 people and say the words that somehow became too dangerous to say. Free Palestine. But if those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I've ever been on.”

“…to use an LLM to write is to void the social contract between writer and reader: we readers shouldn’t be expected to labor to understand a sentence that the writer themselves didn’t work to create.” 🎯
Oh crap
Wait
"So you hate pancakes?"/ "No, did you read the words I actually wrote? Why are you guessing totally separate and distinct sentences rather than just reading what I wrote?"
Is it possible the answer is "Because I was systematically taught to do that?"
