Most teams don't need 100+ metrics. They need clarity. I am building something that focuses on traffic, behaviour, geography and engagement with our overwhelm.
Simplicity > dashboard chaos.
Started building a lightweight web analytics dashboard because existing tools felt heavy and noisy.
Goal: Simplicity
Excited to share the journey over the next few days.
Solo dev life is like juggling flaming torches on unicycle, React, APIs, DBs while your UI shines but loads slower than a 90s Geocities page. 500 API errors just because you forget to handle Null values. CORS issues at 2 AM?
Tip: Build one feature at a time.
#SoloDevStruggle
When you're building an API, use rate limiting and throttlingβunless you're cool with your server getting absolutely wrecked by someone firing off 10,000 requests a minute like itβs a DDoS competition. Few devs skip this, then act shocked. What did you think was gonna happen?
The data was getting appended into the DB from the very first try but the reason why I couldn't see it was; I selected the options into my table views to see only 50 rows at a time.
IT'S NOT THE CODE EVERYTIME!!
My data was not getting appended into the DB. I could see only 50 rows. I checked every api endpoint, every line of code, copy paste the Db connection pool. After 36 minutes of stress, I spot the issue.
