Operatives of the Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad have uncovered an alleged child trafficking syndicate operating under the guise of a hospital in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

A nurse and the matron of the private hospital, Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwem and Mrs. Ngozi Ozoemena, were arrested with three stolen babies aged between one and two years. The suspects confessed to receiving payments ranging from N350,000 to N400,000 for each child.

The Lagos State Police Command has vowed to dismantle the syndicate and ensure all trafficked children are recovered and reunited with their families.
