A lot of people believe isolation is the key to healing but they ignore the side effects that come with it. The longer you stay disconnected the more your mind adapts to that environment. You become less patient, more defensive, and more sensitive to things.
There is a difference between choosing solitude and becoming trapped in isolation. Solitude can build clarity but isolation over time can distort it. When you remove yourself from people completely you also remove feedback, accountability, and different perspectives.
Isolation is often romanticized as healing and self discovery but nobody really talks about what happens when it goes too far. When you spend too much time alone your thoughts stop being challenged and your perspective slowly becomes your only reality.
