The 25-Year Distribution Shift 👇
Every decade, distribution resets.
And every reset creates a new generation of winners.
💻 2000–2010 → Web (Search)
Google ruled the world. Whoever ranked first won the internet.
It was the golden age of blogs, backlinks, and SEO.
📱 2010–2016 → Mobile (Apps)
The iPhone killed the desktop.
Distribution moved to the App Store.
“Get people to install your app” became the new funnel.
👥 2016–2024 → Social (Feeds)
Attention moved from search bars to infinite scrolls.
You didn’t need the best product, just the best story.
Creators became the new media companies.
🤖 2024 → AI (Intention)
Now, people don’t search, scroll, or tap.
They ask.
And the AI decides what shows up.
Soon, you won’t use “apps” or “feeds”
You’ll just talk to your AI, and it’ll do everything for you.
The next SEO is GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation).
And the next ad platform won’t be Google or Meta
It’ll live inside AI agents.
Brands that don’t adapt won’t just lose reach.
They’ll disappear from the conversation.
The question isn’t “How do I rank?” anymore
It’s “How do I show up inside AI?”
@SherryYanJiang We built a killer internal GEO tool and decided to launch publicly next week! You can track your ai rankings and improve visibility!

We recently launched our product on Product Hunt and became Product of the Day.
We also won SaaS Product of the Week, 13x’d our user base, and turned warm leads into closed clients, including startups and scale-ups we’d been in talks with for weeks.
But what really made the difference was how we treated the launch.
Here’s the 6-week breakdown we followed, why it worked, and why I’d 100% do it again, even if the PH traffic fades in a week.
1. Team = Distribution
We turned our entire team into a growth engine. Everyone posted, shared, and engaged, not just marketing.
2. Warm Up the Community
We didn’t start from scratch. We activated early users, friends, and communities weeks before launch.
3. Relevance-First Outreach
No mass blasts. We messaged people with context to build real connections weeks before our launch.
4. Visuals That Convert
We built launch-ready assets: a clear landing page, a fast demo video, shareable banners all tailored for PH.
5. Personal Supporter Squad
We reached out to advisors, early fans, and beta users with simple, personal notes. No spammy asks, just honest context.
6. Real-World Scrappiness
We showed up to events (SaaStr, SaaStock, NTC Tech Week, Startup Grind, AI DevSummit, Stripe Sessions, etc.) with QR-code swag, LEGO raffles, and handwritten notebooks. People remembered.
7. Pre-Launch Party
We hosted a hybrid event in SF with panels and early access. It gave our community something to be part of not just watch.
8. Launch Day = Relay, Not Sprint
We covered the full 24 hours in shifts. Replied to every comment, stayed visible, kept the energy up across channels.
Results
→ Product of the Day on Product Hunt
→ SaaS Product of the Week
→ Fintech Product of the Month
→ 13x user growth in 24 hours
→ Hundreds of new conversations with founders, operators, and investors
→ Multiple deals closed with startup and scale-up clients.
What We Learned
→ Product Hunt builds credibility. It became a trust signal that helped us convert warm leads faster.
→ If your audience is startups, builders, or hackers, you should launch on PH. It's direct access to your ICP.
→ Momentum is short-lived. The spike dies after 7 days, but warm leads and conversations linger.
→ It’s a powerful internal alignment tool. Our whole team was rallied, which created organic visibility and energy across platforms.
→ It helped us close deals. The buzz reactivated old convos and accelerated trust with new ones.
How the top startups got their first 1,000 B2B users and what you can steal from them 🧵
Some hacked Reddit.
Some crushed Google Ads.
Some just email 100 people a day.
Here’s how they did it (paid + non-paid):👇
Takeaway?
There’s no one-size-fits-all, but there is a pattern:
✅ Build something genuinely helpful
✅ Get ultra-specific with your ICP
✅ Choose the right channel (based on ACV + behaviour)
✅ Test fast, iterate faster
✅ Don’t skip distribution; that’s 80% of early growth.
Paid ads are still one of the fastest ways to grow from $100k → $1M and $1M → $10M.
Here’s why they work so well:
✅ Speed: You can test ideas, offers, and funnels in hours, not weeks.
✅ Control: You choose the message, audience, budget, and timing.
✅ Scalability: When something works, you can instantly dial it up.
✅ Predictability: A well-built paid engine gives you compounding ROI.
✅ Data: Every dollar spent teaches you more about your ICP and funnel.
That’s why at Yodamy, we’re now going all-in on performance marketing:
Full-stack execution for Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Reddit ads.
Including: Ads + Creatives + Funnels + Analytics.
