A Middle Class Tax Paying Citizen visits a local Honda Showroom to Buy a 110 CC Honda Activa Standard Model. Their First Vehicle.
He has already paid proper Income Tax and only then gets Salary.
He gets a quotation of โน97456 + extra for Accessories.
He asks for Breakup.
He sees that the Basic Price of the Vehicle is only โน66337.
GST (18%) comes to โน11940 (9% to State & 9% to Central)
Then Road Tax + Registration + Smart Card etc comes to โน13279.
Insurance is โน5000 + โน900 GST.
So basically he pays โน66337 to Honda & โน26089 in the form of GST & Road Tax & other charges.
For accessories, he has to pay additionally โน4000 to โน5000 which also includes GST.
He closes his eyes and imagines the Road on which they will be riding in the Monsoon which will come now. He imagines riding on the roads filled with water logging. He knows that the roads are not upto the mark. He wishes his Road Tax was fully utilized on High Quality Pothole Free Roads.
He feels bad for paying Road Tax for Roads which have potholes in the city. He knows that his Health will go down. But he has no choice. He cannot take a Car because he would be stuck for hours in a jam.
He feels that he has paid Income Tax, but has to pay 18% GST for a basic 2 wheeler. He has to pay 18% GST on Vehicle Insurance. On Accessories.
Then he looks at his family. He sees the joy on their faces as they purchase their first vehicle. He takes his phone out.
He makes the payment using Digital India UPI & takes the vehicle home !!! His family is happy. He goes to work next day.
Story of Middle Class.

Alcohol taxes. Helmet fines. Toll roads with potholes.
The system profits from the problem, then penalizes the victim.
Call it what it is: Responsibility Laundering.

You pay road tax upfront. Govt promises infrastructure.
Pothole kills someone. No refund. No accountability. No reverse liability.
Broken contract. But only one party pays the price.
Govt penalizes you for not wearing a helmet. Your risk, your head, your choice.
But alcohol? Highest tax revenue. Weakly regulated. Destroys families.
Selective paternalism isn't safety. It's controlled where it's convenient.
Most people can't listen. They just wait for their turn to talk.
And the people around them? They've given up expecting more. They just want someone to nod.
Don't be a nodder. Listen to act.
India should seriously consider abolishing #IncomeTax and moving toward a consumption-tax-driven system.
Don't tax earnings.
Tax spending.
Reward productivity, savings, entrepreneurship, and investment instead of penalising them.
We should happily accept being governed by illiterates and educated illiterates when, as voters, we ourselves donโt demand better representatives.
Why ask for vision, policy, governance, accountability, or economic sense when cash handouts and slogans are enough to win elections?

Booked a Tatkal Sleeper ticket today from kanpur central to New Delhi.
Filled every detail in seconds, but IRCTC kept showing- "We are experiencing high load."
Tried repeatedly, Then my ID got locked out. Minutes later, every seat was gone.
So the question is - who actually gets these Tatkal tickets?
Genuine passengers or a system designed to fail common people every morning?
If lakhs of users face the same "high load" issue daily, why has it still not fixed it?
Or is the chaos itself benefiting someone?

Welfare for the poor is necessary. But there is a difference between support and dependency.
Nations grow through jobs, investment, infrastructure, innovation, and strong economic policy. Not by distributing cash before every election. 3/3
India cannot become a developed nation through freebie politics.
Every election is turning into a bidding war of cash transfers, subsidies, and giveaways while jobs, manufacturing, infrastructure, education, and productivity take a backseat. 1/3
At the same time, citizens are told to buy less gold, reduce fuel consumption, avoid foreign trips, and "support the economy" to protect forex reserves.
Valid advice. But governments must first show financial discipline instead of normalising endless vote-bank freebies. 2/3
Congress seems more interested in moral victories than political victories. The bigger problem is the lack of a clear vision and ideological consistency. The opposition space today feels more like a vacuum than an alternative.

Tamil Nadu throwing up a real surprise with Vijayโs TVK making an impact in its first outing. Clearly people are willing to bet on new alternatives and fresh leadership.
And Bengal finally seeing a shift away from Mamata reflects what many on the ground have been signalling.
If this is true, the lady needs correction in many areas. This is neither the first nor the last incident of its kind in India. Policymakers must create an inclusive policy and enforce it more strictly. When will we address these issues directly?
People avoid govt schools despite paying taxes and an education cess, because the system has failed to earn their trust. Private schools exploit this compulsion. With no real alternatives, parents are squeezed and intimidated.
Here, a principal from a reputed private school in Hardoi is berating parents for buying books from a cheaper shop instead of the schoolโs designated vendor. The insulting tone, โshut up,โ โnaam kaat doโ, says it all.
Almost everyone with power in India abuses it to bully those without it.
