🔴 Criticism, rejection, betrayal, loneliness, weariness & disappointment. Six weights one pastor says nearly everyone he respects has quietly wrestled with. https://t.co/Lb8E6kZ5G0
On June 30, 1953, the very first Chevrolet Corvette rolled off the line, and America finally had a sports car to call its own.
For years sports cars were a European thing. Sleek little Italian and British roadsters that Americans drooled over but didn't build. Chevy decided to change that.
That first Corvette was almost entirely hand built. Every single one that first year was painted white with a red interior, and the body was made of fiberglass, which was a wild choice at the time. They only made about 300 of them and it sold for $3,250.
It was not even that fast at first. But it looked like the future, and it planted a flag. Over 70 years later the Corvette is still rolling, the longest running American sports car there is.
"Do not be too downcast if you happen to have a very bad service... There is a real danger of putting our faith in our sermon rather than in the Spirit. Our faith should not be in the sermon, it should be in the Holy Spirit himself."
