Burden isn't just a deep ball merchant, but the fact remains, it's MUCH easier to be wildly efficient (especially playing for Ben Johnson) when the volume is low.
Kalif Raymond in 2022 had a higher YPRR than Tee Higgins, Deebo, Aiyuk, Mike Evans and Garrett Wilson.
NFL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
2016 - J Bosa (Ohio State)
2017 - Marshon Lattimore (Ohio State)
2019 - N Bosa (Ohio State)
2020 - Chase Young (Ohio State)
2022 - Garrett Wilson (Ohio State)
2023 - CJ Stroud (Ohio State)
2025 - Henderson or Egbuka (Ohio State)
This is absolutely insane.
After learning of Notre Dame's memorandum of understanding that grants the Irish preferential playoff access starting next year, athletic directors in other leagues are threatening to freeze Notre Dame out of future schedules, per @DanWolken
@TheDegenWeekly The first two games were not ND’s demise because they were real opponents. It was because you lost H2H to a team on the bubble. Get over it.
You cherry picked the easiest schedule of all time without being in a conference to deal you a fair hand, and the opportunity of a 13th data point!
I see we are still in the denial stage.
The 2025 Notre Dame Fighting Irish made history. I can't believe nobody is talking about this...
ND faced two (2) CFB Playoff teams in Week 1 and Week 2. You will legitimately never see this again in your life.
Why? You know why. Most teams want to ease into the season. If they do play a tough opponent early, then they immediately play a cupcake. Just look at all the examples from this season:
Alabama @ FSU, next week vs UL Monroe
Miami vs ND, next week vs Bethune Cookman
Ohio State vs Texas, next week vs Grambling (lol)
LSU @ Clemson, next week La Tech
Texas @ Ohio State, next week vs San Jose St
FSU vs Alabama, next week vs East Texas A&M
Kudos to these teams for at least challenging themselves. If you don't play a tough team to start the year, you'll do what Penn State does and play nobodies - including Villanova - for the entire month of September.
Ultimately, this was Notre Dames demise. Sure they could have beaten one of these two teams. Easier said than done, especially with a freshman QB! But I digress.
The point is, all the shit they get about soft scheduling, you will never again see a more difficult start to the season. Respect it!
This is the dumbest fucking tweet of all time.
“Bears run game didn’t wear down GB’s defense - it was the 17 play drive (primarily composed of runs) that gassed the Packers defense!”
Whatever makes you sleep at night…
This is such an interesting narrative because it’s not really true.
The Bears run game had one good drive and it was the 17-play drive to tie it. GB offense had just gone 3-and-out, quick TD drive, 3-and-out, so GBs defense was gassed overall.
@KenLitscher Stafford is a Super Bowl champion one seed, and Drake Maye is headed for MVP. Herbert would be the only viable candidate to drop in favor of Love, but I personally prefer his intangibles and duel threat ability over Love. Clear advantage in my opinion
@The_Schnaaa@Peter_Bukowski Definitely. They kept saying he wasn’t a top 5 QB (packer fans!) but couldn’t give me 4 QBs they’d rather have than him. That floater has had the same effect as vintage Favre (no no no no no…YES!!!).
@KenLitscher Darnold has vastly overshadowed Love for the better part of 2 straight years. This generation has become crazed with playoff results ignoring 25+ other games. Mind boggling.
Again, like I said, pretty cut and dry.

The dumbest thing I keep seeing people say is that Notre Dames has a “take my ball and go home” attitude.
The playoff was home. They did not decide to go home. They were sent home, by the AD of Arkansas, a team they beat the fuck out of.
Pls stop - you sound incredibly stupid.
So folks at @espn are upset ND isn’t playing in a bowl game after weeks of folks politicking against the lack of conference affiliation, using them as a pawn for their CFB playoff selection show, having the ACC network play the UM/ND game on repeat for 48 hours during Conf Champ week BUT now it’s a bad look they don’t want to serve ESPN’s best interest by playing in an exhibition bowl game? Got it.
Clark Lea is the absolute man. Stood up for his program to try and help his team get another chance to improve playoff chances and then accepted responsibility when things didn’t go their way.
Will be rooting for Vandy in 2026
Clark Lea did not blame anyone besides themselves with CFP. Says they had chances at Alabama and Texas
“That’s no one’s fault except our own. We had our opportunities and we didn’t do enough. We are not victims in this process. Our ownership is in coming up short…” @chrislee70
So funny.
Teaching young people to be complacent, forget taking matters into you own hands by going the extra mile, and then whining and quitting when life doesn’t go your way.
Horrific message for young people.
If I didn’t volunteer for the extra team project, while a coworker of mine previously outperformed me on a job, I’d have no other option but to accept my own consequences. People don’t owe anyone anything if it’s not signed and sealed. Work harder you entitled babies
Y'all are hypocrites on ND opting out...
If your company told you for weeks you'd be getting a promotion as long as you showed up and did your job...only to give it to someone else at the last minute they said was inferior...would you show up to the optional Christmas party?
@NickAdamsinUSA They got screwed. Head to head is BS. Miami lost to 2 unranked teams. ND lost to two top ten teams. They are better than both Alabama and Miami right now probably better than OU too
The only thing this is going to do is piss Marcus Freeman off. The Irish are going to be out for revenge next season.
Notre Dame will win the 2027 National Championship.
We could disband your conference if we chose to with a snap of our fingers.
ND leaves the partnership and ABC/ESPN would rip up the current TV deal. Clemson and FSU would have a better case in court to get out of their deal.
Be more grateful.
