O Daniel Kim/kyu (ex-I-LAND) abriu o coração em um vídeo em seu instagram e relatou os traumas que viveu durante sua participação no programa de sobrevivência I-LAND em 2020, quando tinha apenas 14 anos.

"Eu não sei por onde começar isso, mas o K-pop acabou comigo.

Acho que a maioria das pessoas me conhece como o garoto de um programa chamado I-LAND. Algumas pessoas podem me conhecer como um 'garoto problemático'. Sabe, eu tinha 13, 14 anos na época em que estava no programa. Sinto que foi ali que aprendi sobre a vida pela primeira vez.

Foi muito louco para mim porque, quero dizer, aquele programa me deixou de certa forma famoso. O primeiro motivo pelo qual entrei no programa foi porque eu só queria ser famoso. Eu queria ser outra pessoa, como um cantor. Esse foi o motivo principal de ter entrado no programa.

Sei lá, isso me causou um trauma. Ficamos no estúdio por três meses inteiros. Era um estúdio gigantesco e extremamente poeirento. E eles nem me deixavam ligar para os meus pais. Enquanto eu estava no programa, sentia tanta falta dos meus pais. Eu não conseguia ter contato nenhum com eles.

Teve uma vez em que eu tive uma crise de pânico também. Eu estava na sala de treino e as câmeras ficavam gravando 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por semana. Meu corpo simplesmente travou e eu não sabia o porquê, mas eu estava chorando. Eu simplesmente corri para o armário, engatinhei para dentro do armário e tudo mais.

Aí ouvi passos, era alguém da equipe de produção. Ele me abraçou e disse: '어른들이 미안해' (oreunduri miane), que significa 'Nós, os adultos, pedimos desculpas'. Isso realmente me ajudou muito. Nenhum adulto tinha falado comigo daquele jeito.

Sabe, é um programa de sobrevivência, então todo mundo era muito 'hostil’. Começaram a falar mal dos meus pais e de todo mundo. Cara, sabe, eu tinha 14 anos. Fiquei meio chocado ao ouvir aquilo. E teve muito mais coisa.

Por que você compartilharia seus sentimentos e tudo mais? Mas eu ainda era o mais novo e era novo demais. Eu era uma criança. De alguma forma, cheguei à final e saí do programa. Fui para a escola e todo mundo me conhecia. Até quando andava na rua, me pediam fotos e tudo mais. Foi demais para mim naquela época."
