Was put on hold during a phone call. Fine, sure, it happens.
However.
What fucking emissary of chaos decided that out of ALL THE SONGS IN THE WORLD, they wanted ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ to be used as hold music?!
What if the giant snow piles that accumulate in parking lots are actually the spines of snow-stegosauruses that are very shy so they mainly stay underground and their ridges are all that poke out.
Megafauna dino cryptids!
Rather disappointed to confirm I am not, indeed, the Moses of Winnipeg; I cannot, in fact, part the snowdrifts with a gesture and a prayer; and I did, in actuality, have to wade through hip-deep snow to leave my own home.
Saw an elderly person in Wal-Mart today gently lift up their mask so that they could sneeze.
If I age into as selfish and stubborn and entitled a person as many current geriatrics are, all while having the gall to complain everyone younger than them is a fool, euthanize me.
I may not be on a Forbes list, but that’s only because of their metrics. If they measured success by whether or not you can transcribe a version of Taming of the Shrew while listening to Boney M.’s Rasputin on loop for 6 hours straight, then I’m cracking top five.
Ah, yes, now that NaNoWriMo is nearly over and I’ve juuuuust managed to break 50,000 words; that means today, now, the 29th, is a Good And Useful Time to have finally conceptualized an outline of the full story.
The Hex Girls are powerful, enduring, and - in many ways - living the dream. This is my favourite song of theirs and even though I haven't seen Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost in years and years their influence is indelible.

In D&D, it’s near-impossible to permanently kill a fiend. It just reforms in its corner of the outer planes and comes back. To truly end it, one must journey to the nightmarish turf where it spawns and slay it there.
Which is to say: Riverdale is still going.
Also, we’re back.
Faceless Boy guarding the 18th hole at this mini golf course is scarier than most horror movie monsters of the past 10 years.
I beg of you, Faceless Boy, whose judgement dogs my every putt: Mercy. Let me fly your weathered visage to be haunted ever-after only in my dreams.

Hallo. After a summer-long slump, I offer: An music.
Cover of Call of the Sky - off the album of the same name - by the inimitable Arne Parrott for The One Shot Network's podcast Campaign: Skyjacks.
Such a beautiful song. Finally got me recording again.
We don’t give enough credit to the creators of ASL for making the sign “CHURCH” very, very similar to the sign “CHOCOLATE”. I really think they were onto something there.
@oceantail33@TheRustyQuill Thank you! At present I only put my music on YouTube but if I make a band camp or something down the line, rest assured I’ll post about it.

At some point in the past, I replaced a line from 'I'm Looking Over A Four-Leafed Clover' from a different song with a different rhyme and so have been hearing:
"I'm looking over
The White Cliffs of Dover"
Not that it happens often, but I’ve realized that whenever “What shall we do with a drunken sailor” goes through my head, the lyrics I think of are not “put him in the brig until he’s sober”, but instead “put him in a bread pan ‘til he’s sober”.
?????
I do not watch or play The Witcher. But I am aware of a very catchy song in the show: 'Toss a Coin to your Witcher'.
The tune I attach to those words on sight is from 'Break Up With Your Girlfriend' by Ariana Grande, an artist to whom I do not regularly listen.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I haven’t read 1984 since 2013, and out of nowhere, JUST now, I registered the metaphor at the end:
—-spoiler—-
Winston is shot the moment he concludes that he loves Big Brother because that’s the moment he as a free-thinking individual dies.
8 years late, but I got there.
I keep catching myself making grotesque expressions for no apparent reason beneath my mask.
I'll be on a perfectly peaceful walk and suddenly realize I look like this:
@CompostWitch Hi! Triple-thank you for the kind words, tagging people to listen, AND the column rec. - especially from someone so biologically knowledgeable!
(Might have to get “terrestrial bipedality was a mistake” as a t-shirt…or better yet, a tattoo.)
