Do I love Scream because I think it's super deep? No. I love it because it's funny and scary and (most of the time) intelligent with its commentary on the state of the genre. Sometimes all a movie has to be is a good time. But I tend to drift to horror for the above reasons
Man just thinking about Monsterpalooza and how happy everyone there was. Monsters and gore and death and people are smiling the whole time, delighting in being scared and sharing how the genre makes you feel
Anyway, horror to me is about hope and feeling good about that fight to keep on going. Honestly probably why Mike Flanagan's work hits best but I really do love the genre so much
Day two at #monsterpalooza I was Pearl for the first time! The wig fought me and gave me a distinct Megamind style forehead but you know what, for a first run, super rushed? Very happy with it
Monsterpalooza was so fun! I did a scaled back version of Grace for day one and right there at the entrance was the line to meet @deadmeatjames & @carebecc who were SO nice and I was SO nervous to talk to them but they're truly so kind and taking their time with everyone 😭
Nothing makeup related induces as much rage as fucking falsies. My Grace makeup still turned out fine and the pair of falsies I accidentally brought with me were hideous ANYWAY but still. Fuck 'em, man.
The theory that she was one of the few Cavs to actually decide *with* her necromancer instead of for him, love it. The snippets of pre-resurrection Pyrra were very good, I just wish there was more for all of the Cavaliers
Pyrra Dve hours!
Everything in ntn is described lovingly but the details of Nona observing Pyrra shaving her face and Pyrra's body in an admiring and loving way! Wow
Shouldn't be that novel I guess but it was special to read regardless
And that Pyrra's body is both inconsequential but still mentioned is idk how to word it but!!!!! That's Pyrra! Which isn't the only reason I love her, she's so complicated and cool and a good parent I want to know moooooore
