i feel like i need to be private for this.
basically this is saying unis will serve as a cash cow (global profits) as they are growing ahof's fandom and they are hoping for ahof to pull through while unis shoulders financial side after a turnaround because boy groups sells+
[📰] Kim Changsoo Entertainment venture faces a high wall: F&F’s boy group 'AHOF' builds a fandom, but monetization question marks remain.
Kim Chang-soo, CEO of F&F, is facing a steep barrier in the entertainment business, a sector he has been nurturing as a growth engine outside of fashion. F&F’s entertainment subsidiary, F&F Entertainment, is expanding its footprint into a comprehensive entertainment company.
It has consecutively debuted the girl group 'UNIS' and the boy group 'AHOF,' alongside building an actor management lineup. However, despite AHOF achieving meaningful fandom metrics, the financial strain persists. Analysts suggest that converting an expanded artist lineup into actual profit still has a long way to go.
According to a comprehensive look at F&F Entertainment's situation on the 2nd, the current entertainment business is being restructured primarily around its idol ventures, specifically centering on AHOF and UNIS. AHOF is set to release its third mini-album on the 8th. This marks a new release about eight months after dropping their second mini-album in November last year. UNIS will also launch Japanese activities by releasing their first Japanese mini-album on the 31st. While their scope of activity is widening, it is difficult to say that F&F Entertainment has secured a definitive stream of revenue.
The entertainment industry is structured in a way that takes time to monetize after an artist's debut. Expenses for album production, music videos, choreography, styling, content creation, global promotions, fan meetings, and staff operations occur repeatedly. Therefore, even if a fandom is established, it is difficult to guarantee profitability based on album sales alone. In fact, industry insiders commonly note that companies must endure at least two to three years of losses before turning a profit in the entertainment sector.
F&F Entertainment has also recorded continuous losses since its establishment in 2023. The operating losses stood at 7.3 billion KRW in 2023, 14.1 billion KRW in 2024, 8.7 billion KRW in 2025, and 1.3 billion KRW in the first quarter of 2026. As of the first quarter of 2026, its total equity is -26.5 billion KRW, leaving the company in a state of complete capital impairment.
An official from F&F Entertainment explained, "We are expecting a turnaround in the first half of next year. Since our spending volume is not as massive compared to major entertainment agencies, we believe turning a profit in the first half of next year is highly achievable. "The difference in operational models between the fashion and entertainment sectors is cited as the reason F&F is struggling in the entertainment industry.
CEO Kim Chang-soo has historically grown F&F by acquiring established external brands and combining them with product planning, distribution networks, and marketing capabilities. Representative examples include F&F's flagship brands, MLB and Discovery. Conversely, the entertainment business requires discovering new artists from scratch to build music, content, and a fandom together. It is a completely different formula for success compared to the core business that CEO Kim has always operated.
In the entertainment sector, once an artist's fandom grows sufficiently large, there is room to expand the business into collaborative products, advertisements, and global marketing tied to F&F’s fashion brands. However, for this vision to materialize, the artists must first secure mass public recognition and fandom purchasing power.
In this regard, AHOF appears to be the card that F&F Entertainment is currently pinning its highest hopes on.

stadiums and whatnot. so they are depending on unis to pull them through this financial hurdle right now since ahof is still growing. and when ahof do grow, they are expecting that they will be bringing the domestic financial profit and getting them out of the 26B won debt.
