@yyxyunah I think people forget that Ao3 was meant to preserve fanworks. Archiving the archive is well in line with the ethos of Ao3.

The site was never meant to be social media, or a place for new authors to build followings. It’s a fucking museum!

The way people are treating artists while ao3 is down shows how much fandom has turned into a society of consumption. Fan content is so readily available they think it's owed to them. It's not. Artists donate their time and skills to the community.
