Covid was like a natural experiment of "what happens if you derail someone's life at age X." We had toddlers delayed on language skills, middle schoolers not learning how to have normal friendships, 20-somethings never getting those early office jobs where you learn stuff.
I mean, they're also bringing shame to the doctoral hood by not allowing their students to speak fully at their graduations. But that's a big issue. Wearing the hood wrong is my signature pet peeve.
My hot take is that you shouldn't be awarded your doctoral degree if you're going to refuse to learn how your hood should be worn. All these high school principals bringing shame to the doctoral hood.

@QualiaQuanta I get that. I didn't ban make-believe at home or at other activities so it's not like she never experienced it, and learning practical life has such benefits
@SketchesbyBoze I'm starting to wonder if the whole platform of school as its done right now is part of the issue but not sure what would replace it. Maybe 3/5 days guided at the library with no computers or apps
