Dua Lipa has opened a physical library of banned books called 'The Manifesto Library' at a new cultural auditorium in Porto, Portugal.
"This library is a shrine to books that have disappeared, to authors whose courage unmasks structures of power and control, and to readers who refuse to be told what book they are allowed to read. You are invited to visit and decide for yourself what belongs on these shelves. Because sometimes the most subversive thing you can do is read a book and then talk about it," Dua Lipa said via a press release.
Fans made a collaborative archive to ensure that all of SOPHIE’s work is documented, preserved, and freely accessible.
https://t.co/O4lwSvezdw is dedicated to comprehensively documenting the life and work of the late electronic music producer. The site will “host an extensive archive of her live sets, links to all of her official releases and points of purchase, information about her discography (both released and unreleased), as well as photoshoots and interviews.”
The project is unaffiliated with SOPHIE’s estate or former labels, and is explicit about its approach to her unreleased work: “Leaked material will not be hosted on this site, but we will include information about them in an attempt to quell the rampant misinformation that exists around some of her work.”
The team is actively seeking contributors—anyone who attended a SOPHIE performance, worked with her, or has information about lost SoundCloud tracks is encouraged to get in touch at [email protected]. It’s currently a work in progress.
