@GBPolitcs No Nigels either.

@SomersetCCC @WPAinsurance I do hope the rumours about Ben Green going permanently to Leicestershire don't materialise. His batting and bowling (especially death bowling/variations) have really developed. Such a valuable player.

@SomersetCCC Very hard to compare different eras. I saw Viv, Dasher, Trump, etc, and they were all excellent in their time but fielding standards and expectations are so much higher now it's hard not to go for modern day player. As others say, Max. Or Tom Abell.

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@scillyniki Turk's Head for me. Brings back happy memories of my first visit to St Agnes last year!

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@AnnieChave @GlamCricket @SomersetCCC Also, 2nd/3rd in CC1 (stayed in Div 1 longer than anyone, I think) having challenged for title. And got to T20 finals day yet again - were runners-up. And Second 11 T20 champs. Not bad! And done with mostly players who came through academy. They'll still be disappointed, though!

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@AnnieChave @GlamCricket Yes, well done @GlamCricket . Sad that @SomersetCCC couldn't quite manage to win a trophy but well done for sticking with the team that got us there - minus the 11 players lost to the Hundred and, mostly, no overseas - with mostly players who have come through our youth system.

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@somersetpodcast @Gloscricket I like the way the Somerset CCC social media channels, whilst celebrating their team's successes, are always quick, win or lose, to show respect and good wishes to the opposition and their supporters. Classy. @SomersetCCC

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@carla_denyer Totally agree. It's been embarrassing for years. As with so much in our Parliament, it is so out-of-date. It's treated like a party political game rather than grown-up debates on issues for the good of the country. Terrible. What can be done about it?

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

Highlights from a quick afternoon stroll today along Clevedon Seawall were 2 Wheatear (Dowlais), 3 Little Egret, 6 swallow passing through. 1 Common Sandpiper and Kingfisher (Blind Yeo sluice) https://t.co/TD6zZQQoKu

[Simon Hancock @simonhancock_uk]

Hadn't spotted this until mentioned here.
One player who came through SACA and the other 10 all through the Somerset academy system 👍

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@SomersetCCC @HigosInsurance Well played, Somerset! 10+ players missing to Hundred, Davey ill, no overseas players in team.
Great start to the campaign. #MetroBankFever

@hannahscottuk @OutandWildlgbtq Glad you enjoyed the weekend, Hannah. It appears you bumped into my daughter there... thanks for the video 'hello'!

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@jackbyrne91 @huwzat The disparity between the promotion of the Blast and the 100 is staggering, clearly showing which one they want to survive more. They'll do whatever they can to plug the 💯 and then try to justify by saying Blast attendances have declined.

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@SomersetGrockle Agreed. As far as tonight is concerned, I might have been tempted by, say, £3 as a one-off but I'm not paying £6.

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@SomersetCCC @CountyChamp Hurray!

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@SomersetCCC *'adjudged' claxon

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@hannahscottuk Happy birthday- hope you had a special day!

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@LouisHenwood Agreed. Spot on.

[Jon H @heyw_jon]

@somersetpodcast @WisdenCricket @CountyChamp @Yas_Wisden @Phil_Wisden I think the powers that be at Somerset deserve some credit for spotting his potential and giving him opportunities last year (when others had let him go).
