As a web/graphic design major, I found this intriguing; I wish more mediums used these guidelines. So many people are fooled (myself included) by manipulated photos. There needs to be more truth to the images we're seeing, esp when associated with important news π #mscmms
I'm not sure I agree with Tim Cook in ch 14. Though privacy is a huge deal, it's also important to protect others if there's threat of danger. If there's reasonable cause, I think phones should be able to be accessed to prevent potential crimes--or solve them. #mscmms
While reading ch 13, I thought about the Tylenol murders of the '80s. Though it was a huge crisis for Tylenol, they handled it so well that the company remains a prominent and trusted brand 40 years later π An example of PR crisis management done right! #mscmms
What are some brands you swear by? Is it because they have good advertising, or is it because they're quality products--or both? One product I love is the Passion Planner. It's the best planner I've ever used and it has great social media advertising ποΈ #mscmms
@Dr_Sitton The MJii assignment says to write an "essay"; is it okay if it's written more as a journal entry, or is it strictly more essay format? Also is there a page limit recommendation? #mscmms
Ch 9 mentioned AIM and I immediately became nostalgic. Who else misses AOL's old platform? I loved customizing my background and color scheme. I also loved getting to talk with my friends and got excited whenever I saw they were online. Ah, such good times. #mscmms
Ch 11: "Language differences haven't stopped ppl in other countries from listening to American music...often not understanding but enjoying the ways ppl put things together". Eefje de Visser is one of my fave artists--often don't understand the lyrics but love her style #mscmms
@RyanLandersASU You should look it up! It was a fun but very short-lived game. Basically the same concept as a battle royale with a party of players and usually 1-2 secret "imposters" who could murder other players. The other players had to figure out who it was!
The videogame chapter reminded me of the Among Us hype. Does anyone else remember when AOC streamed a round on Twitch? So much fun to watch π A great illustration of the social power of videogames and how they can bring people together. https://t.co/fR3Z9uokIN

I'm not even sure when I last watched broadcast TV. I pretty much only watch "The Office" on Peacock; it's embarrassing how much I can quote the show (I've probably watched it upwards of 50 times) π What TV shows or streaming platforms do you prefer & why? #mscmms
My favorite movie experience had to be when I attended NC Governor's School in the summer of 2009. We watched the silent film "Seven Chances" in the auditorium & a fellow student improvised the soundtrack on piano. So fun! Definitely worth a watch if you've never seen it. #mscmms
@RyanLandersASU "Maybe we're just garbage now"π Yes, I agree--pictures were much classier back then. Now we just post whatever whenever. It's for sure interesting to see how pictures and picture-taking have evolved.
My grandma used to play accordion (pictured below in her marching uniform). Coming from Polish heritage, she used to take part in social music by getting together with friends and whipping up polkas. I think it'd be so cool if social music were still a popular thing. #mscmms
