BREAKING - #EnhertuEmergency:
Thousands of women with incurable HER2-low secondary breast cancer have just been denied access to the drug Enhertu.
It’s a drug that would’ve given them the hope of more time to live. But it has been rejected for use on the NHS in England.
Fantastic news! Talazoparib (Talzenna) has been approved for use on the NHS in England - the first targeted treatment for certain people with locally advanced or secondary breast cancer who’ve inherited an altered BRCA gene.
"Knowing this treatment exists but is out of reach is so cruel."
Thank you very much to @nadiasawalha for sharing this personal story of her dear friend Hannah.
#Enhertu for HER2-low breast cancer is a drug that offers women like Tracy the life-changing hope of more time to live. But they're facing an agonising wait to see if they can access it on the NHS.
@NHSEngland and @DaiichiSankyoUK must urgently agree a deal to make it available.

News that the license for anastrozole be extended to cover its use as a risk-reducing treatment for breast cancer is a step forward that ‘paves the way’ for more eligible women with a significant family history of breast cancer to reduce their chance of developing the disease.
"Give us hope for the future.”
We’re sharing an open letter from 6 women with HER2-low incurable secondary breast cancer: @NICEComms, @DaiichiSankyoUK and @NHSEngland work together so trastuzumab deruxtecan (Enhertu) is available on the NHS in England.

Today trastuzumab deruxtecan (Enhertu) has been provisionally rejected for use on the NHS in England for certain patients with HER2-low secondary breast cancer.

Absolutely heartbreaking news 💔 Nicola was an incredible campaigner and we loved working with her on the Trodelvy campaign.
Sending all our love and thoughts to her family
We’re devastated to hear that Nicola, an amazing patient advocate from our Time For Trodelvy campaign, has died.
Nicola’s incredible passion for getting Trodelvy approved on the NHS shone through from the start of the campaign.
Started running in 2018 - 5k, 10k, half marathons and a marathon later - things I never thought I’d be able to do and perhaps an Ultra next. Give running a try 🏃🏻♀️#GlobalRunningDay
It’s #GlobalRunningDay - a day to celebrate the benefits that running can bring to your physical and mental health. 🙌
