Standing 177 ft high, Kröpeliner Tor is tallest of #Rostock’s city gates. It was built in 13/14th centuries as part of medieval defenses. Four gables with blind arches in front of the intersecting roof with a ridge turret still characterize the appearance today. #WeAreGermany

In medieval times, #Lübeck owed its reputation as an important city to the success of its merchants. The Holsten Gate became the proud symbol of the free imperial city. The city gate was built between 1464 and 1478 along the lines of Dutch models. #WeAreGermany @hansekoenigin

Electoral Palace in #Trier is one of the world's most beautiful examples of a Rococo palace. Today, the Grand Chamber in the Rococo south wing hosts classical music concerts. The palace gardens are open to the public and feature a large pond and beautiful statues. #WeAreGermany

Schängelbrunnen fountain is a symbol of #Koblenz and stands on Willi-Hörter-Platz, encircled by renaissance and baroque buildings. It is dedicated to the Koblenz-born poet, Josef Cornelius, who wrote the lyrics to the well-known Schängellied song, the city anthem. #WeAreGermany
