Lasting peace demands women at the table.

Women lead on the frontlines of conflict and recovery. They also bear the greatest burden of wars they did not choose.

Diplomacy that excludes women misses the realities of war and the solutions needed to end it.

The voice and power of women of all backgrounds and identities must be front and centre. The organisations they lead must be protected, supported and funded.

Peace must be inclusive, grounded in human rights, and shaped by the lived experience of those it affects.

This International Day of #WomenInDiplomacy, we mark 25 years since the UN first called for women’s equal participation in peace and security. We are reflecting on what it takes to dismantle the deep-rooted barriers that still keep women out of diplomacy and to build and transform decision-making spaces where they belong.

We supports women’s full, equal and meaningful participation in diplomacy and peacebuilding. It makes every process stronger, fairer, and more sustainable.

Women are the enablers, builders and keepers of lasting peace. 🕊️🌍
