Teaching is not only a profession, it’s the ultimate profession. It creates, it nurtures, it defines, and it supports all other disciplines and professions.
Is teaching a profession? Here’s the real definition.
A profession is defined by six things:
Specialized training
A unique body of knowledge
Clear standards and ethics
Professional judgment
Service to society
Ongoing development
Teaching meets EVERY ONE of those criteria.
So why do some people act like it’s not a profession?
Because we’ve spent years undermining the very things that make it a profession:
We scripted teachers.
We standardized everything.
We minimized expertise.
We paid professionals inadequately.
We gave more criticism than respect.
But the truth is this:
Teaching is a profession.
In fact, It’s the profession that makes every other profession possible.
When he’s gone and this is all over, I don’t want to hear a single Republican in Congress talk about how shitty and dangerous he was when they spent the entire fucking time sucking his dick.

I’m a Musk biographer, and IMO—based on research—he’s one of the most dangerous men alive. I urge folks to consider this before aiding in enriching him further. https://t.co/qoWLKMI4rB
30 years ago, the Bland family sold 87 acres of farmland to the Texas Parks and Recreation Foundation for $10 with one stipulation in the deed: the land must be turned into a public park in Williamson County.
Last year, the city of Taylor, Texas, sold that land to the data center developer Blueprint for $10 million. The Bland family's dream of creating a community hub will be erased for a 135,000-square-foot data center complex.
From Blueprint's $1 billion data center project, Taylor is projected to generate $30 million in tax revenue over the next decade.
Despite public protests, Taylor, Texas, said on its website that there was no way to deny construction of the data centers.

3 Indian sailors are dead after a US strike disabled the tanker MT Settebello in the Gulf of Oman.
CENTCOM says it was carrying Iranian crude and ignored orders. (21 crew were rescued).
India has summoned the US chargé d'affaires.
This incident will outlast the news cycle.
It's the 2nd Indian-crewed, Palau-flagged tanker hit by US forces in a single week (MT Marivex was first; all crew survived).
Blockade enforcement is no longer an abstraction between Washington and Tehran.
It's now killing 3rd-country seafarers.
The world's tanker fleet runs on flags of convenience and Indian, Filipino and Chinese crews.
A blockade that treats every non-compliant hull as a target puts those crews at risk.
For shipping, this adds a layer on top of Hormuz war-risk premia now extend into the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea, crews may refuse Gulf routings, and insurers reprice everything Iran-adjacent.
The blockade's cost is no longer just barrels. It's manpower and coverage.

😱😱😱 And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media.
A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children.
Lets make this viral again 👇
The man who brought Melania to the US, worked directly with Ghislaine and Epstein on various partnerships, had the mother of his child deported, was in Hungary side by side with the VP, sent me a cease & desist last month, was likely involved in me also receiving a demand letter from POTUS and FLOTUS, directly had Bekah Day banned from TikTok & bragged about it, does all of this while hiding behind a WH special envoy position with the obvious backing of Donald and Melania. I have continued to say for everyone to watch what extent they are willing to protect him. He knows way too many secrets.
Bill Gates is the first billionaire to say publicly what many in New York business circles have talked about for years: Epstein blackmailed many of the world’s wealthiest men, he operated like Russian intelligence, gathering kompromat through his network.

In 1979, a doctor gave John Beal 4 months to live. He had 3 heart attacks on top of the wounds and the nightmares he'd brought back from Vietnam.
There was a creek behind his house in South Seattle, and it was dying too.
Hamm Creek ran yellow. It was buried in pipe in places, packed with garbage, and drained its filth into the Duwamish River.
Nobody would have blamed him for doing nothing. He had almost no money, no science degree, and no authority over a creek the city had already paved over. He had every reason to sit on the porch and run out the clock.
Instead, he started pulling the trash out by hand, worked to free parts of the creek from the pipes they'd been buried in, and replanted the banks one tree at a time.
He and the volunteers who worked with him name every tree they put in, because he believed a tree with a name had a better chance.
He didn't die that summer. He kept showing up for 27 years. Today that creek runs salmon, herons, osprey, beavers, and otters through a neighborhood boxed in by factories.
John died in 2006, at 56. But the work didn't stop with him. The crews he'd pulled together kept showing up, and before he passed, his testimony helped inspire the creation of the Veterans Conservation Corps, which gives other veterans the same thing the creek gave him: a place to heal by restoring one.
Hamm Creek is now one of only two salmon-spawning creeks left on the Duwamish, and volunteers are still in it today.
The Duwamish Alive Coalition runs work parties on the creek and across the watershed every spring and fall, hauling out invasive plants and trash and putting native plants back, and they hand out a John Beal Environmental Stewardship Award every year to someone carrying it forward.
“Trump's secret police… have been running rampant since he came back to power… Is that what you expect from a World Cup host in a World Cup year?”
@mehdirhasan and political scientist Jules Boykoff break down the unprecedented threat that ICE poses to the World Cup.
This lady had something to say y’all. Rep Mike Flood (R-NE) held a town hall and let’s just say it didn’t work out so swell for him. I would like to know the answer to her question as well, how much does it cost us, the tax payers to become a fascist country? #CantAffordTrump
Big Bend has never needed a wall to keep people out. It keeps itself — with heat, with distance, with silence so deep you can hear your own heartbeat. For a century it has asked only one thing of us: to leave it as we found it.
This isn't really about the border. It's about whether we're still the kind of country that understands some places are worth protecting not because they're useful — but because they're irreplaceable. The Rio Grande doesn't know what a contract is. The canyon just keeps going.
What we decide to do to Big Bend will outlast every policy that brought us here.
