This past Wednesday, the co-pilot of Fly Dubai's Flight 1073, flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv, attacked the captain and tried to crash the Boeing 737 Max, the jet plunging 14,000 feet in a matter of seconds.
Passengers subdued the attacker and another pilot righted the plane with moments to spare. CBS News' @CBSMATTGUTMAN talks with some of the passengers who heroically helped avert disaster. https://t.co/djf6T2sE0J
In recent years, Idaho has achieved one of the most dramatic state-level reductions in regulation ever.
Instead of assuming old regulations should remain on the books, it made agencies justify the ones they wanted to keep. Since 2019, the state has eliminated roughly half of its regulatory code.

Thank you, as always, to Baroness Falkner for bringing such clarity and rationality to an issue that should matter enormously to the NHS: *impartiality in our public institutions.*
Her piece in The Times raises some important questions for the NHS, so a short thread. 🧵https://t.co/G3qQU8OrL0
Polish 26 year old guitar master Marcin Patrzałek respond to those who have made public comments claiming that his music is fake.
He made this video in a tutorial form showing how he manages to play so extraordinarily well in response. And yes, it's all played on one guitar.
“Stewart is just not nearly as bright as he thinks he is. I’m sure several years of talking to Alastair Campbell would lead anyone to believe that they were vastly more intelligent than others, but it has turned Stewart into a dolt.”

Baroness Falkner, former Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, organised a short debate on impartiality in the Civil Service in the House of Lords Grand Committee today and our director, Lord Young, spoke.
Lord Young drew attention to the 167 cases the Free Speech Union has taken on in which the other party is a civil service body. The largest single category in these cases is gender critical civil servants who've got into trouble for defending single sex women's spaces.
During the debate, Lord Young highlighted one particularly egregious case — that of Anna Thomas, a mother of one who was dismissed by the DWP for raising the alarm about the department's wholesale embrace of Critical Race Theory, as well as its membership of Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme.
Lord Young concluded by offering to share the FSU's evidence about the lack of political impartiality in the civil service with Antonia Romeo, the Cabinet Secretary currently carrying out a review of the civil service and in particular looking at whether it's properly discharging its co situational duty to remain politically impartial.

Twenty five years ago I played a minor role as a clergy first responder at 9/11.

An NHS nurse whose male colleague continues to use the women’s changing room - despite the Supreme Court ruling, a new hospital policy and gender-neutral facilities being available.
A hospital receptionist investigated for 18 months after saying trans women are not women.
An ambulance worker accused of “harassing” trans people because of gender-critical posts on her personal social media.
And a GP who fears the proposed Conversion Practices Bill could make parents and doctors afraid to explore explanations for a child’s gender distress other than that they are transgender - potentially putting that child on a path towards irreversible treatment.
More NHS workers contacted me than I could possibly interview for this investigation into what it is like working in the health service if you believe biological sex is real.
I couldn’t quote everyone. But everyone had a story.
With one exception - Darlington nurse Bethany Hutchison - every NHS worker I interviewed asked to remain anonymous for fear of losing their job or damaging their career.
These are medical professionals working in a health service where biological sex can be crucial to diagnosis, treatment and patient safety.
Yet some are frightened even to say that a man cannot become a woman.
