The transatlantic slave trade was a crime against humanity that struck at the core of personhood, broke up families & devastated communities.
Let us reject the false narrative of racial difference & fully commit to human rights, equality & the inherent worth of every person.

Deep appreciation to the medical team for their remarkable dedication. ❤️❤️
Oh my God! This is phenomenally effective communication! Fantastic narrative device with the right amount of exaggeration that lands the message with a bang, while also sending chills down the spine of the target audience (parents of young children)! Excellent work by the Irish agency Core Creative.

I have joined the Jamaican delegation at this critical stage of negotiations, for @cop30nobrasil at a time where many nations including Jamaica have experienced the ravages of Climate Change in recent weeks.
We will push for the greatest awareness and support for Jamaica’s current challenges while pushing for the strongest possible mitigation and funding commitments from the international community.

The day after Hurricane Melissa left her traumatised, Washington DC resident Michelle Yarboough cautiously emerged from the Airbnb in St James where she was staying and asked a stranger if she could charge her phone.
She received a lot more help than she ever expected. Lavern Jenkins took her in, and Yarboough watched as the family helped...

She was not wrong.
She was afraid people would rewrite history so she saved over 30 years of TV history on 71,000 VHS Tapes. She at one time maintained nine apartments to store her tapes.
Marion Stokes recorded television nonstop for over 30 years, documenting news, local programs, commercials, sitcoms, and late-night shows.
She began in the 1970s and continued until her death in 2012, using up to eight machines to capture multiple channels like CNN, Fox News, and C-SPAN.
Her goal was to save history and help people find the truth in media. She believed TV networks were throwing away their own archives, but she wanted to save everything as a resource so anyone could look back and check the facts.
She used her own money to fund the project. She became wealthy because she invested in Apple early on.
After she died, her son donated her recordings to the Internet Archive, so one day the public will be able to search and watch this whole record of television history.
The Internet archive claims the exact number tapes are 71,716.
Ghana has officially secured ownership of Kente, the vibrant, handwoven fabric that embodies centuries of pride and identity.
The move gives Kente cloth Geographical Indication (GI) status, Ghana’s first, ensuring only authentic weavers from towns like Bonwire, Agotime Kpetoe, and Sakora Wonoo can call their work Kente.
This recognition protects artisans, preserves cultural heritage, and strengthens Ghana’s role in global fashion.
🇬🇭 A win for culture. A win for craftsmanship. A win for ownership.
