Year 12 Economics students were grateful to be visited by Naomi Dickinson, an Investment Specialist from Bluestone last week along with Ms Mathews. This was as part of the GAIN Investment Challenge. GAIN stands for "Girls Are INvestors"! Go girls!

Highdown School is ranked as the best non-selective secondary school in Reading based on our progress-8 score! This means that our cohort of 277 students achieved, on average, a quarter of a grade higher across all of their GCSE subjects compared to the national average!!!

As part of their personal development and careers program, Year 7 have been exploring the different job roles required to make an organisation work.  They have been interviewing our tremendous support team and discovered there is a lot more to running a school than they thought!

Highdown Geography Department took two teams to this year's @The_GA Geographical Association Worldwise Quiz.

Our Year 8, 9 & 10 students took to the challenge like ducks to water, they embraced the whole event and their behaviour was exemplary. Super well done!

What an absolute joy it was to welcome 60 Caversham Primary School students and their very game teachers and parent helpers to our science labs at Highdown yesterday. Thank you to our Year 12 Ambassadors for delivering and supporting the children during the experiments.

Aspiring Veterinary Med student, Amelia, used online tuition to train herself in the technique required to clip the nails of our bearded dragon, Bluebell, which she then ably implemented at Reptile Club last week!
How wonderful that we are able to offer these opportunities here.

We still need raffle prizes for the student raffle taking place at our Christmas Fair, please drop off your donations to the school reception! Ideas for prizes include sweets and chocolates, toiletries and fun stationary.

These groups take place each Wednesday, where students across all year groups work together and foster House pride and camaraderie.

We are currently in Careers Week 2 (of 5) here at Highdown and this week it is our annual Careers Fair!
Year 9-13 families are warmly invited to join us tomorrow from 6-8pm.
We have also run a programme of careers events during school this week.
