Our feature at the Tarradale "Barns" continues to perplex us. It now looks like we have set of steps leading down into the feature, which have then been blocked up. We also have early indications of a cobbled surface dipping down towards the centre of the pit. Watch this space!

"My membership body says I have to"
"my supervisor says no"
"I was trained this way"
These are all cop-outs! We are responsible for our own ethical decision making. It's not enough to disown our power and tell a client that some invisible power is responsible for our actions.
Another weekend pursuing the remains of the "barns" shown on the 1788 Tarradale estate map with a select group of volunteers. Some new areas stripped by the mechanical digger proved to be more interesting than we at first thought. We will be back!

Here is the double pierced cowrie shell found during finds sorting at Tarradale this week. We think it may have been used as a bead some 6 or 7000 years ago! #mesolithic
