Is it really possible to attain Samadhi Amidst All Activity around us?
Question- Gurudev, How can I maintain a state of Samadhi admist all activities of life?
@Gurudev Sri Sri answers: to feel samadhi in spite of all activity, recognize the dream nature of events, and the world around you will give you strength.
The aim is an equanimous, poised mind. But it is not so easy, it is easier said than done. That is why sadhana and meditation matter, and time and maturity in life help.
Quoting Krishna's words in the Gita about ripening over many births, he says reaching tranquility, equanimity and samadhi in activity can take lifetimes of struggle, but when the time comes, it all comes up.
You may have noticed the mind is sometimes suddenly very clear, and at other times rattled, everything a mess, leaving you uncomfortable and wondering why, when you do so much sadhana. It is just a matter of time.
When the time comes, it all vanishes and clarity comes. These are the initial stages. But once you become centered, you impact the space wherever you go.
Asked how he feels the energy of the places he visits, he says: don't feel energy from anywhere, I carry my own energy wherever I go. We are all energy, and in that space you create positive energy wherever you are, you don't have to look for it.
Vairagya, dispassion, seeing the whole life as a dream, is the only way to be centered. Remind yourself again and again: all that has happened is like a dream, finished; what is happening now is like a dream; and life in the future is also a dream.

🔥 Wherever You See the Highest, Recognize the Divine | Lord Krishna Reveals How to See the Divine in Everything in Bhagavad Gita 10.30 📖
“Among the Daityas I am Prahlada; among those who reckon I am Time; among beasts I am the lion; and among birds I am Garuda.”
🌿 Core Meaning
Krishna teaches Arjuna how to recognize the Divine through the world around him.
He points to remarkable manifestations within different realms: Prahlada among the Daityas, Time among those who reckon, the lion among beasts, and Garuda among birds.
The deeper teaching is simple:
Whenever you encounter extraordinary purity, strength, greatness or excellence, let it remind you of the Divine source behind it.
🧠 Deeper Meaning
Prahlada shows that devotion can remain untouched even in difficult surroundings. His environment did not determine his consciousness.
Kāla, Time, governs change and reminds us that nothing in the changing world can be permanently held. Wealth cannot purchase it, and power cannot stop it.
The lion represents extraordinary strength, majesty and fearlessness.
Garuda, traditionally the mighty vehicle of Lord Vishnu, represents greatness and elevation.
Krishna is not asking us to worship these forms. He is teaching us to use the world itself as a doorway to remembrance of the Divine.
🧘 The Gita’s Alternative
Our ordinary mind divides everything:
“This is spiritual.”
“That is worldly.”
“This is extraordinary.”
“That is ordinary.”
Krishna invites us to look differently.
Wherever excellence, beauty, courage, wisdom or nobility appears, recognize the Divine expression behind it.
🌱 Practical Application
The next time you see someone exceptionally skilled, courageous or compassionate, pause before comparing yourself.
Appreciate the excellence.
When nature leaves you awestruck, pause.
When you realize how precious time is, pause.
Ask:
“What quality of the Divine is this reminding me of?”
Prahlada can remind us of devotion.
Time of the preciousness of life.
The lion of courage.
Garuda of greatness and elevation.
The world itself can become a classroom for recognizing the Divine.
@Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Insight
Gurudev emphasizes recognizing the Divine presence and intelligence underlying creation rather than limiting Divinity to one particular form.
As our vision expands, the world can be experienced with greater reverence instead of separation.
✨ The Essence
Krishna is teaching Arjuna a new way of seeing.
See devotion in Prahlada.
See the power of Time.
See majesty in the lion.
See greatness in Garuda.
But don't stop at the form.
Look beyond the name, form and category.
See the Divine expressing itself through countless manifestations of creation.
And then turn that vision inward.
The same Divine you learn to recognize everywhere is not absent from you.
The world becomes more than something to experience.
It becomes an opportunity to remember the Source.
Whenever you encounter something truly magnificent, let it remind you of the Source of all magnificence. 🙏
