Gov. Abbott has once again taken away the rights of the people of Texas by signing Senate Bill 1. This is voter suppression that will primarily affect those in low income communities and communities of color.
We need legislators to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act NOW.
🧵: Three days ago, I arrived in Louisiana to assist with recovery efforts. Tirelessly, teams of men and women from across the south have spent the past few days on ground and water rescue efforts such as that—and I want to thank them for the work they are still doing.
On the anniversary of both #EmmettTill’s death and the March on Washington where #MLK delivered his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, I am reminded of how far we’ve come in our search for racial justice, and how far we’ve yet to go.
Affordable access to healthcare is one of the platforms of my campaign. All Texans deserve the quality healthcare that Gov. Abbott is receiving right now.
My thoughts and prayers are with American and allied men and women in Afghanistan. 20 years ago, America engaged in war in Afghanistan with the goals of capturing Osama Bin Laden and assisting the Afghan military in standing against the Taliban.
The U.S. Senate just passed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan #infrastructurebill. This is a HUGE win for Texas that will help improve our transportation, schools, broadband, power grid and the quality of life for Texas residents overall.
56 years ago President LBJ, a Texas Democrat, signed the voting rights act in to law.
Right now Texas Democrats are in DC advocating against voter suppression.
Send this Texas Democrat to Congress next year and we’ll pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

Capitol police officers continue to suffer from the effects of the insurrection while the Republicans who incited it go unpunished.
Prayers to family of Officer Hashida 🙏🏼
Congress doesn’t deserve to be on vacation while 11 million people are facing living on the streets.
They need to get back to work to #ExtendTheMoratorium
We’re less than 8 hours away from our end-of-month deadline and we need your help to meet our goal!
Donate by midnight tonight so we can continue the work to flip Texas blue!

Today I’m marching with the @UniteThePoor, @BetoORourke and @RevJJackson to end the filibuster, protect democracy, immigration rights & ensure a living min wage.
In Congress, I’ll fight to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr and ensure all people are treated with dignity & respect.
