@SaskPower After some research with @SaskPower I have been informed that the planned outage is not at Birch Bay, rather at Aspen Ridge, blocks 8 and 10. Please provide more accuracy and specificity in your planned outages. Thank you.
@SaskPower You are aware that a major snowfall is forecast for Tuesday night through Wednesday. Will this planned outage be postponed due to the snowfall and wind?
@globeandmail Perhaps the CEO had a few more important issues to address other than whether he also had to repeat it in French. The crash was a significant tragedy for the families, crew, passengers and others affected. And, it comes down to this bilingual nonsense. Give it a rest.
@SaskPower If @SaskPower would do their job and keep the power grid going that would help to keep us warm. What’s with all the planned outages in the winter, and unplanned outages when there isn’t a storm or other event to cause an outage?
@SaskPower Why are you planning a six hour outage in the coldest, darkest days of winter? Do you provide backup generators for residents to heat their homes during a planned outage? This work should be done in warmer months. Very poor planning @SaskPower
@NFLAUNZ@NFL Except in Canada where @youtube was blocked. If you didn’t have a paid subscription to @TSN then the game was not available. Who made this decision?
I’ve been posting some pretty savage criticism of Elections Canada.
But on this point I think they’ve made a good decision. Misspelling will not invalidate the hand counted ballots. They’ll be counted in front of scrutineers and all it takes is a written ballot which clearly expresses a preference. Spelling isn’t important.
They’ve found a good solution to the crazies who were trying to mess up the election. The printed ballot would have been 7 feet long.
Now, all voters need to do is write in the name of the candidate they wish to vote for. It cuts out all the fake candidates.
Best way forward under the circumstances.
@TheRealKeean I have been advocating for write in ballots since this nonsense started in the Toronto byelection. Easy to administer, easy to vote. @ElectionsCan_E made the right call.
@tobi As a former returning officer the logistics of administering a farcical election such as this is outrageous. It is insulting to the legitimate candidates, voters and election officials. 2/2.
@tobi The chief electoral officer could issue an Order stipulating that ALL ballots will be write-in. The names of the candidate can be printed on a large poster in the voting place. The CEO has a mandate to conduct a fair and accessible election for all voters. 1/2
@AndrewScheer@stephen_taylor Everyone should have a vehicle mechanic as their best friend. Old, used cars will be the norm. Think Cuba. I live in rural Canada - power outages are common. EVs are for urban socialists. Common sense, please!
@MrStache9 There used to be a deposit. Previously, a candidate in Alberta won a court challenge that a deposit was “undemocratic” and disenfranchised some people. Now, there is no deposit required. Perhaps raising the number of nominators would also resolve this bunk.
@MrStache9 The Chief Electoral Officer could have issued an Order, stipulating that if there are more than 10 (or some other reasonable number) candidates, then Write In Ballots are issued. They are used in RO offices before nominations close, so it is a reasonable alternative.
@jamesfburnett There is so much wrong with this. I don’t have the tech capability to freeze some of this video. Looks like there was no counterfoil at all. When was it removed? Mrs Carney has her voter info card. Looks like it has a Canada Post mail forward sticker on it. Interesting.
