Fantastic piece in the Mail on Sunday by @jimmysfarm alongside @jamieoliver it’s been brilliant to see such leadership on food and farming standards from two of this countries favourite chef’s....
So the new report states that we must use less transport, eat less red meat and buy fewer clothes to cut emissions. But the data shows that agriculture is one of the lowest and is declining so improving. So why on earth does it get so much negativity! Discuss.
Extraordinary that @BBCNews lays the blame for climate change on cattle and sheep. Not #airmiles not #vehicles not transporting almonds, avocados, asparagus half way round the world. Who remembers the countryside bereft of livestock post footandmouth?
@davidshukmanbbc @IPCC_CH@RHarrabin It categorically doesn't say that. I really don't understand why you are continually taking this line. As if Brexit hasn't divided the country enough you seem determined for the London bubble mentality to drive further unrest. it's been appalling reporting all day
@No1FarmerJake@latet8 How you going Jake
Have you had much rain?
Dorset has been lucky - the odd shower. Harvest going ok, but I stress until it's all done!
One for the #vegans. My food comes from the first picture, yours comes from the second... please remember that before you try and take the moral highground over the environment 👍
