Today in Dallas I was grateful to be presented with the Champion of Truth Award for our work this past #txlege to pass Trey’s Law — groundbreaking legislation ending the use of NDA’s in cases of sexual abuse and assault, human trafficking and prostitution. While I am humbled by this honor, the real heroes behind this bill are heroic Texans like @ElizCarlock @beckyleachtx1 Cindy Clemishire and so many other victims and survivors who have shared their stories and spoken out. Because of them, a nationwide movement has been sparked to give voice to the voiceless and to fight back against their perpetrators who seek to silence them.
Tommy Williams has a deep understanding of the mission of @TAMU and the values that define our university. His experience in public service and his commitment to the Aggie community will serve the A&M System well as we continue to move forward.
I was proud to join @GregAbbott_TX as he signed into law new legislation to make Texas youth camps safer for our kids. Every child deserves to come home safely after camp, and these new laws will help give parents peace of mind. Thank you to Gov. Abbott, @DanPatrick, @Burrows4TX, @electcharles, @DrewDarbyTX, and all who worked to get this done for Texas families. #Heavens27
I want to thank my good friend, @RepStanLambert, for his years of dedicated service to the Texas House and to the people of West Texas. Stan has been a steady and trusted leader, always putting the values of his community first and working tirelessly to ensure opportunity for future generations.
West Texas and the entire state have benefitted from his wisdom, kindness, and integrity. I’m grateful for his friendship and proud to have served alongside him. We wish Stan and Debbie the very best in this next chapter.

To quote @leachfortexas you’re either with the victims or their abusers. Christians - pay attention to which side your pastor is on. NDAs are designed to protect the perpetrators while silencing their victims. They have no place where we tout bringing darkness into light.
Had the chance to sit down with Cowboys Co-Owner Charlotte Jones to discuss her support to legalize online sports betting in Texas. She is most concerned that, as it is now, unauthorized betting apps leave under-aged Texas residents vulnerable.

I joined @SBAllianceTX because it’s time to end the offshore, illicit market for sports betting and create a consumer protected online sports betting market in Texas. https://t.co/5IApXsej8I #LetUsVote
Wait, What?! There were 201 million visits to illegal betting sites during the first three months of the @NFL season?
@Covers that's millions of potential visits & millions in revenue that the regulated industry is missing out on.

Texas is a state of winners... unless you’re betting!
@HoustonTexans, @dallasmavs, @spurs, @HoustonRockets, & @DallasStars had big wins this weekend! 70% of Texans want online & in-person sports betting to be legalized. #txlege keep our💰in #TX instead of going to illegal sites.
28 states have legalized online sports betting. 36 states allow for retail sports betting.
Texans must cross state lines or use illegal sports betting sites to place bets & #TX is losing millions that could fund critical state programs.
