Newcastle have lost more than a midfielder in Bruno Guimaraes. He was the driving force on the pitch & emotional leader off it. He was as unique a footballer as I’ve come across. Because of that he is irreplaceable. He gave 4.5 years of incredible effort & quality. Given that, he deserved the chance to move on, even if it leaves NUFC infinitely weaker. The challenge now is to find a way to win matches without him, and also ask why he wanted to go. Newcastle “2.0” needs to confront some of the reasons why 1.0 has come to an end.
