Thank you so much @hjluks for the tweet! Really appreciated coming from someone like you working at such high level towards better healthspan for so many! 🙏
The biggest misconception among athletes:
If I do the training, I will get more fit.
This is not always the case.
There are responders and non-responders to training largely related to what else you have going on in your life.
I can assure you, if life stress is high, your recovery is compromised, & your body is not in a good position to respond to training, you absolutely can..
put in the hours and get worse!
@tferriss Dry needling to reduce the protective tone in the Q.L and multifidus. Some corrective exercise (DNS and or McGill big 3) and keep walking! maybe scale the hiking volume
Dogs obviously recognise other dogs as belonging to the same species, but do they recognise breeds? I can’t remember ever seeing gangs of Dachshunds naturally congregating on street corners to discuss their lived experience.
To kick off, who else but @chrischirp — staggeringly clear, accessible science communication throughout the pandemic, sharing critical data and charts virtually round the clock! Half the time I'm scrambling to catch up with my own work

Seems obvious that regular cold exposure by shower, ice bath or circulating cold water bath is good for one’s mental & physical health. BUT: don’t cold adapt by doing it too often. 2-4X/week, 3–10m per session ideal. Nod to @tferriss who told us this years ago in The 4 Hour Body.
Probability, the Queen of Science, is like a violin. Some people play it beautifully; others produce loud, jarring and offensive notes that hit you deep inside.
Areas to treat when seemingly no undesirable movement characteristics: phalanges, lumbricals, interossei, abdominals, spring ligament, tarsals, carpals.
Oh, and the zygomatic arch. Make 'em all soft and relaxed to touch or passive movement.
Our preference for money appears unbounded, w/no explicit satiation. But just as there's an optimal height, weight, & muscle mass beyond which one appears malformed, there's a subtle optimal wealth.
It's the level of wealth above & below which your sleep degrades.
γνῶθι σεαυτόν
Three questions to help determine what is worth giving a fuck about:
1. Can I control the outcome?
2. Does it add good problems to my life?
3. Does it help myself and/or others?
Each influences the other, because the people who make up an organization determine the kind of culture it has, and the culture of the organization determines the kinds of people who fit in. #principleoftheday
I find that a lot of stupid people hide behind big words and flowery vocabulary, and a lot of smart people aren’t afraid to use basic language to get their ideas across in an easy to understand way. Also I’m stoned on the toilet right now.
