Booking a hotel in Japan with a toddler? There’s more to confirm than “2 adults, 1 child.”
Two things I’ve requested that made our stays easier: a diaper bin and a baby bath chair.
Here’s a message you can adapt before booking:
“We’re planning to stay on [dates] with our child, aged [age], sharing our bed.
• Can this room accommodate all three of us?
• Is breakfast included for our child, or is there an extra charge?
• Do you have a diaper bin and a baby bath chair available?
• Can these items be reserved in advance?”
Availability varies by hotel, so ask what they can confirm before deciding what to pack.
A few details checked ahead of time can make arrival—and bath time—a little easier. 🇯🇵
A hotel in Japan has a 4.8 rating.
You open the newest reviews:
“Could hear every conversation next door.”
“Room was spotless.”
“Barely slept.”
Would you still book it?
What’s the one hotel review comment that makes you close the tab?
“5 minutes from the station” doesn’t always mean 5 minutes from your train. 🇯🇵
Before booking a hotel in Japan, check:
• Which station exit is closest?
• Where’s the elevator if you have luggage or a stroller?
• How far is that exit from the line you’ll actually use?
Save the right exit on your map before arrival. Your tired future self will thank you.
@roki0224@kongshamdu The texture must be quite different with the bones left in! What fish is on the left, and which kind is your favorite for this style of sashimi?
@12akaandao11 “You don’t have to wait until you’re fluent to connect with someone” is such an encouraging message. Giving beginners a phrase AND a situation to use it in makes that first step feel much easier.
@Colin_P_A_Jones I can see why that caught you off guard. Was there a sign explaining the age limit for children? Having that clearly posted would help visitors know what to expect.
@OleksandrCloEE Being able to relax because the everyday things work makes such a difference to a trip. What was one small detail in Japan that you especially appreciated?
@0xHikaru Onomichi would be a great fit for photography: hillside lanes, old temples, and views over the water. What time of year are you planning to go?

@Toory0115 A cup of tteokbokki after school, with sundae and fried snacks on pocket-money day—that’s such a lovely childhood memory 😊 What was your favorite fried snack?
