@mrmikeMTL The house already being warm when you woke up in the morning would have been a luxury
(instead of having to go to the basement and start a fire in the coal furnace.)

@RobertKennedyJc Go. Home.
You are dangerous and misguided & this isn’t playtime or a place for “hunches” or alternative facts.
Seriously, please stop.
@SecKennedy LIE DETECTED- You brought up ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine for COVID. LIE
Explain- without looking it up, what are the steps of the scientific method? How do you conduct a randomized, double-blinded study (what does double-blinded mean)? What is the peer review process?
To reduce postop complications (not just quit rates) requires smoking cessation for >4 weeks using >1 intervention- and the longer, the better.

@gurami We need more doctors. It’s not one or the other. We should be training more generalists AND specialists. Waiting six months to a year for specialist appt shows we need more of them too. PCP is too important and we need more doctors there too. We need more doctors period.
@DrNeilStone Yep and there is a second edition out too and with audiobook. It is relevant and the warnings were there while we were being too lenient with the 'treat everyone's position as equally valid, even when verifiably false'. @RadioFreeTom
@JeffBezos Canceled subscription which is quite disappointing. Watching the downfall from “democracy dies in darkness” to turning off the light is sad to watch.
Shame on you for contributing to rising authoritarianism. But hey, as long as you get more rich, what else matters?
@DrNeilStone I’m here but conflicted so interact less and less. I see your posts & you have some reach but many of us do not.
Vaccines save lives. The HHS secretary is dangerous, disingenuous & should never have been a serious option for that job.
@JeromeAdamsMD I'm afraid if they knew any of that, RFK would have been waved away without consideration rather than installed in this important position. (hi- fellow anesthesiologist here). I'm truly afraid of what is to come from this.
Also, #preop#periop friends - we need you over at the other place. Not many of us there yet. Much easier to avoid propaganda and noise and focus on our #medtwitter like content over there.
Preop/Periop Thought:
If preop'ing pts, don't forget they may be anti coagulated post op (ex: with joint replacement, up to 325 asa BID for 2-4 weeks or DOAC, etc).
If you have reason to think they may have GI bleeding, even if not severe or anemic, consider scope BEFORE surgery
@JeromeAdamsMD You would be a safe & sane choice. However, your positions are based in actual science & not pseudoscience so you are not going to fit in this time. Might be an impossible position for you honestly- would be lots of pressure to conform & act against what’s right?
