The race starts at Nubra Valley at 10,200 ft and it climbs to Khardung La at 17,618 ft.!

VIDEO | Leh, Ladakh: Suraj Meena, who set the fastest-ever Silk Route Ultra time by a non-Ladakhi runner in the 122-km race, on Friday recalled how he used to cycle from Jaipur to Ladakh to participate in the marathon.

"I came by cycle in 2024. It was 2,400 km from Jaipur via Manali and I reached in 12 days. I liked the mountains, so I did not know how I reached in 12 days. My coach was supposed to receive me, but he arrived a day later, so I went to receive him. After that, I cycled from Ladakh to Jaipur via Kashmir, covering around 1,500 km in 12 days," he recalled.

The long-distance marathoner also revealed that running has become a part of his daily routine.

"Running is my motivation. When you run for 12, 15 or even 20 hours, you stop thinking about everything else and focus only on yourself and the run."

उसके जैसे हज़ारों लोग वहाँ दिखे जो किसी परीक्षा के भ्रष्टाचार से आहत होकर नहीं सिर्फ़ बच्चों के साथ जुड़कर कुछ अपरिभाषित, अमूर्त सी आस लेकर वहाँ आए थे, आते जा रहे थे।
