Another video of the incident provides an even clearer picture of the violence.

It shows a rioter kicking the RAF personnel, causing him to fall to the ground. Once he is down, the mob surrounds him and assaults him.

This is not the conduct of a peaceful protest. It is lawlessness.

The organisers have clearly failed to keep their supporters under control. Political parties backing these protests through their proxies have unleashed anarchy on the streets, putting the lives of both citizens and security personnel at risk.

This is not what a peaceful protest looks like.

A disturbing video from around 9:00pm on 21.07.2026 shows a Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel being chased and assaulted by a violent mob.

The personnel is seen running to escape. While trying to get away, he falls to the ground. The rioters then surround him, snatch his shield, and repeatedly assault him, kicking, punching, and striking him with the very shield meant for his protection.

No cause can justify such brutality against a law enforcement officer performing his duty. This was not peaceful dissent; it was mob violence.

Dear Air India Customer Care,

I am writing to express my serious disappointment regarding my travel on Flight AI 0879 from Delhi to Guwahati on 21 July 2026 (PNR: 9S8PN7).

I had paid an additional amount in advance to select my preferred seat during the booking process. However, at the last moment, my selected seat was changed without any prior information or valid explanation, and they have allotted seat at back row.

This caused significant inconvenience and completely defeated the purpose of paying for seat selection.

Additionally:

Despite charging me for seat selection, no refund has been processed for the paid seat selection charges.
When I approached the ground staff at the boarding gate, instead of helping resolve the issue, they behaved rudely and unprofessionally. Their attitude was discourteous and they were unwilling to provide any satisfactory explanation or assistance.

As a loyal passenger, I find this experience completely unacceptable. If Air India charges passengers for a specific service, it should either honour that commitment or proactively refund the amount when it is unable to provide the promised service.

I therefore request that Air India:

Refund the full amount charged for the seat selection immediately along with compensation of harassment
Investigate the conduct of the ground staff present at the boarding gate and take appropriate action.
Provide a written explanation as to why my paid seat was changed without my consent.
Offer appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and poor customer experience caused.

I look forward to your prompt response and an amicable resolution. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be constrained to escalate the complaint to the appropriate consumer grievance authorities and aviation regulators.
