The incoherence of calling yourself a “supreme court voter” while also dismissing stuff like court packing because it would “politicize the court”
Is the Supreme Court political or not?
This is a devastating interview.
Scott Pelley tells the NYT that Bari Weiss directly put a “thumb on the scale” for Trump over the killing of Renee Good.
Here’s his explanation of exactly what happened.
I’m not sure this is understood in the West, so I want to emphasize:
Al Risala are Lebanese *Boy Scouts.*
They belong to the Lebanese Scouting Federation, the local affiliate of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
The US affiliate is the Boy Scouts of America.
After Al Risala Scouts turn 18, they often become Scout leaders who serve as EMTs, firefighters, and search-and-rescue teams.
In the past 2 months, Israel has killed 27 Al Risala Scouts, Troop leaders, and associated young adult rescue workers.
Here are some of young Scouts killed by Israel. Neither the Boy Scouts of America nor the World Organization of the Scout Movement have condemned their murders.
Our government is supplying Israel with white phosphorus bombs that melt human flesh to the bone. These bombs are targeting civilians, schools, hospitals, and places of worship. The U.S. must end its complicity in these war crimes, and pass the Lebanon War Powers Resolution.
The % of Dems who have a positive view of Israel is at 13%—less than the % of Dems who support full abortion bans & prayer in schools. Here I ask why US media keeps insisting support for Israel is “dividing democrats” when—in reality—it’s a fringe position https://t.co/61BRqAQQwo
Your heart is not a state secret. You are meant to declare allegiances. You are meant to have favourites. Write the letter. Miss the train. Stay up until dawn talking. You should be caught red-handed loving something, someone.
🚨 CPC leadership is encouraging members — 45% of Dem Caucus — to vote YES on Lebanon War Powers Resolution
@RashidaTlaib "framed the resolution as cutting off U.S. support for Israel’s operations"
"it would not impact U.S. assistance or support for the Lebanese Armed Forces"
Pelley is the third top “60 Minutes” correspondent to charge that Bari Weiss demanded inserting “falsehoods and bias” into reporting.
And we know that’s true because her public memo on the CECOT story mischaracterized the Trump DOJ’s position.
This, by Weiss, is false.
Liberal Zionists be like “he’s a fringe figure and doesn’t represent Israel” and it’s the minister of finance or the minister of national security or the prime minister
What a photo.
Saline Township did everything in their power to stop this data center. Then the wealthy developer threatened to bankrupt the township in litigation, ultimately forcing this upon the community.
Now their conquest will be rewarded with tax breaks.
this isnt something you can budget your way out of. Capitalism simply means sucking every last penny out of the poor and transferring it to the ultra rich
Recently read the fascinating memoir of a journalist who traveled to Palestine in 1929 as a supporter of Zionism and came away thinking that the idea of establishing a Jewish state there was the most insane folly imaginable and would lead to endless conflict with the majority Arab population. Wrote about it here with some of his incredibly prescient quotes: https://t.co/cHxs8knYg9
AIPAC complaining of “A level of scrutiny not applied to any other group of citizens.”
Let’s be precise: No other interest group — not crypto, not AI, not big oil, etc — hides its money in shell PACs. They all spend through PACs that are transparently linked their interest group.
AIPAC and its major donors are alone in the opposite practice. So that is why reporters have to investigate it so that voters can know who they are backing. The other option would be to just be honest and transparent from the jump. Why not do that?
According to AIPAC, “Being pro-Israel is good policy and good politics.” Their offshoot DMFI even claims there is a “Democratic majority for Israel.”
If that is true, spend money openly, endorse candidates openly, and let voters decide.
If you refuse to do that, we will keep following the money and letting people know who you support.
If it’s true that being pro-Israel is good politics, we’re doing you a favor!
In Gaza, all men of military age were deemed legitimate targets.
“And military age is really open to interpretation,” said Jonathan.
“It could be from 16 to 60 or even younger...Most of the people that my unit killed were not armed.”
We are in capitalism’s final stage, where global capital can’t expand or sustain past profits. It now consumes public institutions and key systems, sacrificing democracy, welfare, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and ecosystems for short-term gain.
Samsung just averted a strike by granting chip workers an average bonus of about $340,000.
The union made a credible strike threat that would have threatened the global chip supply, and Samsung, predicted to be the 2nd most profitable company on Earth this year, caved to worker demands.
Samsung has about 78,000 people in its semiconductor division, and while bonuses will vary the average comes out to a stunning $340,000 per worker.
