I sat down (spatially) with the director of media development at Cirrus Aircraft to discuss their new free app that just launched, Let's Go Fly!
It comes with an amazing immersive short film capturing what it's like to fly in their SR22T aircraft right in the cockpit over the American desert southwest.
It also shows you highly accurate 3D models of 2 of their aircraft that you can see in full scale. Full video below.
Steam Link on Vision Pro is the real deal. Streams any Steam game from your PC to a giant virtual display, and it even works when you're on a different network than your gaming rig. Here's a short clip from my review showing performance on the same network with mouse and keyboard linked via bluetooth directly to my gaming PC. Virtually no latency. Full review below:
I went hands-on with the new X-Plane 12 Vision Pro companion app which allows for foveated streaming along with mixed reality passthrough so you can see your actual HOTAS while flying. Spoiler Alert:
The connection from PC to Vision Pro is flawless, but the UI for drawing your mixed reality passthrough window, along with some of the settings accessed within the VR cockpit could use some work imo. Excited to see what comes next as this continues to improve.
iRacing for Vision Pro is now officially available. I took a deep dive showing how to set it up and compared quality against @KRVR_AVP which has been providing a similar feature set since visionOS 26.4 was first available. Spoiler alert:
@KRVR_AVP I'm not noticing much improvement vs https://t.co/M7DxK1yP3J but it is extremely easy to just jump in a race and get started, no hoops to jump through.
@techietaro It's not great. Surprisingly doable though like I wouldn't mind demoing a game with this method but would definitely prefer my local gaming PC still.
Vision Pro + MSFS or DCS is fantastic, especially when you can see your real joystick and hands. Here's a short clip from my latest deep dive (full video below).
X-Plane 12's official visionOS 26.4 + NVIDIA CloudXR 6.0 integration has just released and I will be exploring that in a video next week.
