This morning, the Prime Minister was totally blasé about decimating the oil and gas industry. She seemed perplexed that people would go to court to defend their rights. It’s like she doesn’t read the news or have a clue about what her own Government is doing to business.
Very clear, at the moment, that having messed up border control, small businesses are on their own while Labour is in charge. No understanding from Ms Ardern as to who caused the problem.
Labour still hasn’t managed to establish a travel bubble with what is essentially a Covid-free part of New Zealand. We either have the world’s dumbest borders, or Labour’s plan is being dictated by politics. We need a new government. Labour isn’t fit to govern.
Labour used the Covid crisis as an excuse to permanently raise benefits. There was no justification for it. The lockdown didn’t affect beneficiaries. It was political opportunism at its worst. ACT would reverse that change.
So having criticised our plans to let NZTA borrow money against national land transport fund revenue to increase overall transport spending, the government has just announced they will... let NZTA borrow money to invest in transport projects.
Winston just used his valedictory to say I ‘wasn’t front bench material because I had no capacity for work’. This from the guy notorious for not even opening let alone reading his Cabinet papers!
Labour’s plan is to win the election at all costs. It’s putting politics above people by locking the border and wrecking the economy and ramping up Covid-19 propaganda to keep New Zealanders in a state of fear until September 19.
