how to skillmaxx with o3:
1. Choose Your Skill
- If you’re already good at X: Pick one adjacent skill that multiplies your main skills value. Example: Copy -> Offer design -> Cold email
- If you’re starting from 0: Pick something that people pay a lot for, can be scaled (agency, SaaS, product, content), gets stronger over time
2. Use this Prompt
“You are a world-class [INSERT SKILL} coach. Break [skill] into the 3–5 sub-skills that create 80 % of results We focus on fast and real world application.
For each sub-skill give:
– 1-sentence definition
– Best-in-class example
– 1 daily drill (under 30 min)
– A success metric
– A common mistake to avoid”
Step 3: 3h Execution Loop
Every day:
Hour 1: Study the Top 1%
- Deconstruct elite examples with o3 (“why does this work?”)
- Spot patterns: frameworks, phrasing, flows
Hour 2: Build
- Ship daily outputs (landing page, offer, cold DM, mini SaaS)
- Make o3 act like a harsh critic, customer and investor (yes, all 3)
Hour 3: Audit, Adjust, Attack
- Self-review: “What sucked today?” (no emotions)
- o3-review: “Give me brutal feedback on this output.
- Set next day’s specific improvement goal
Step 4: Build Digital Assets
Every good output =
- A Twitter thread
- A blog post
- A case study
- A shareable teardown
Step 5: Weekly AI Audit
Every Sunday:
- Feed o3 your outputs and wins
- Ask for a full skills report:
- What improved
- What still sucks
- What drill or project to attack next
Weekly correction is the goal here.
First review in the academic literature on how ALE can improve acetogen gas fermentation. Honoured to have my name on it, along with James Heffernan and Kaspar Valgepea! Have a look: https://t.co/skylAzj2G3
It's depressing to consider, but I suspect the demise of skiing in the Alps will prove to be far more consequential to the rich world's awareness of climate change than news that one third of Pakistan is underwater.
Thinking about doing a postdoc? Wondering what the heck we do all day?? @chris_zie and I tracked every minute of our workdays for several weeks - check out the data and our blog post! https://t.co/5mCdDF8faB @AcademicChatter#phdchat
