@NeuroCellPress @itsrachelnaomi @NeuroCellPress would love to know if there is any plan for statements or discussion from your side regarding all the comments made on this tweet referencing AI use for your covers now and going forward?
@NeuroCellPress @itsrachelnaomi For any researchers who were unaware of the issues with #AIart but see how visualizations can elevate #scicomm, there are other ways! Groups like @AMIdotorg and @GNSIorg represent real artists who specialize in beautifully and accurately depicting science — check them out!
@itsrachelnaomi @BraydonDymm@NeuroCellPress Acknowledging this cover is possible through other artists' works, you acknowledge that you're using their efforts without permission, compensation, or even direct credit. AI platforms use artists' works illegally, & AI images aren't protectable under copyright law. Upsetting.
I could immediately tell that this is an AI-generated cover. Midjourney and other AI art platforms are being sued for violating artist rights by scraping content for their training tools without consent. AI-generated images are not protectable under current copyright law.
