Well, this is my last day on hippos901 and it's been great. I just want to reflect on the importance of everything you humans have learned this week about climate change & how you can make a difference. We need to MAKE A CHANGE FOR POLAR BEARS ... together we can do it!

Here's a picture of Kim, one of my humans here at Memphis Zoo. Kim is one of my keepers but she also does some pretty cool stuff for wild polar bears. She's traveled to Churchill, Manitoba in Canada to work with Polar Bears International and make a difference for polar bears.

Hi from your un-bear-ably cute Memphis Zoo polar bear! There are currently 19 recognized populations of polar bears in the wild. It's estimated that, with no action taken on climate change, we could lose all wild polar bears by the year 2100. Let's take action now!

Happy Hump Day from me, Payton! Speaking of humps, you might have heard that camels store fats in their humps. Well did you know that polar bears store fat in their bodies, too? We don't have humps 'cuz that would be weird but the fat we eat builds up and keeps us warm.

Hey, it's Payton the Memphis Zoo polar bear again to talk about the decreasing area of thickness of sea ice in the Arctic. This means my wild friends have to work harder to find food & swim further out, putting the moms' cubs at risk. Let's do better for polar bears everywhere!
