@CORPSE_alt So sorry, Corpse. I recently had an EMG on my legs and was told the same thing. Apparently having 9 hip surgeries in 6 years will do that to a person.
The injections are scary sometimes, but they definitely have helped. The pain is still there, just not as bad.
@kaylejh I have PTSD from medical trauma. It started with a surgeon telling me I was "crazy" while writing me a referral for a psychiatrist I was already seeing.... And continued after 2 traumatic hip surgeries that landed me in the ICU for cardiac events and poor pain control.
@Librumtinia@bennessb Thank you! I was thinking something along those lines as well. She also thinks my femoral nerve can be involved (which would not be surprising because I've had 9 hip surgeries).
Sitting and waiting to see the neurologist about my weird right leg numbness and pain. I've had it for longer than I've had fibromyalgia, so I know it's not related, but I'm scared this new doctor won't believe me. Need some good vibes sent my way please.

@spacerosex @bennessb I left the appointment with an order for an EMG, so I definitely think it went well. She didn't just write me off, so that was great.
@jasminethespoon Got a birth control implant in August and no longer get my period, but still get the nerve pain and horrible cramping that came with it, so I also use a heating pad, epsom salt baths, and take NSAIDs. My periods were VERY bad before the fibro, so I've been doing this for 16 years
@bennessb Part of me thinks I caught her at the wrong time and part of me thinks she is plotting to kill me after I gave her flea medicine this morning.
@bennessb This is my special needs girl Bella. We put an eye patch on her to make her a pirate dog, but she shook it off before we could get a picture. (She is always a little anxious, but it is worse today because she feels the tension).
My primary care doctor was literally the only doctor in this town who took me seriously, so her leaving makes me feel terrible. I just find myself hoping her replacement will give me the referrals I ask for when I go see her on Thursday... I need a doctor to take me seriously...
New fun for me. My periods no longer happen thanks to the Nexplanon implant, but I still get the mind-numbingly painful cramps that used to go with the periods. Heat doesn't work. NSAIDs don't work. Exercise makes the sciatica that comes with the cramps worse.

My OB/GYN doesn't take me seriously and says I'm exaggerating, so I am going to be asking for a referral to a different one. My primary care doctor left the practice and I have to see her replacement, which I am not excited about.
Right now, I'm watching the pre-recorded concert that I took part in. Surprising that I am still experiencing crippling anxiety despite the fact I am not actually performing tonight. Weird how the mind works....
@GlutenFree_zy@bennessb I've been taking varying doses of gabapentin for the last 7 years. I have had nerve damage since a botched hip surgery in 2010. The biggest side effects I've experienced are concentration issues and drowsiness.
Just realized I cut surgeon out of the orthopedic surgeon. But for real, I just thought it was good on him for referring me elsewhere when he couldn't find a reason for my weird nerve symptoms that very possibly might be related to my #fibromyalgia.
I feel like I've accomplished something. Today, my orthopedic called me a clinical conundrum because I have very specific nerve symptoms and no proof of activated nerves on my MRI. He's sending me to a neurologist for further testing.

@up_pain I did finally get an appointment with a gastroenterologist at one of the university hospitals nearby, so I'm hoping I will have better luck there. This is the same hospital that diagnosed my LQTS, so I trust them to figure this out.
I went to a new gastroenterologist today and the first thing she said after I described all of my symptoms to her was, "you're only 27, so you must be exaggerating. Your CT and MRI are normal except for the giant hemangioma and you aren't symptomatic there." #neisvoid
@livingsmallCA I have not been tested for Crohn's. The second they heard I don't have familial history, they automatically pushed it to the bottom of the list of possibilities. Doctors seem to do that a lot and I honestly don't have the energy to fight them on it half of the time.
@secondchances09 No, mine is usually triggered by exercise, which I don't really do that much anymore. I luckily haven't had an event since 2017. All of my syncopal episodes since were caught on a loop recorder and were labelled as vasovagal events because there was no arrhythmia detected.
@secondchances09 Yes, If my heart rate drops below 50bpm, it paces me up to 100bpm for a few minutes until my heart rate and blood pressure normalize. It usually happens at night and when I'm overly stressed or in a lot of pain.
