@DPearsonPHL@tomfitzgerald He's actually a piece of shit human whom 3 days after taking office he told the RR Training department "It's my Railroad and I'll run it the way I f*****g want" then he fired the head of the RR Training department.
@_shamuso_@fifimcfae You are correct sir. However you’d be wise to float Bennett Levin’s solution for the Harrisburg line in selling it to the State, kicking Amtrak off it, and instead allowing them place a bid to run service, allowing SEPTA to run it without these absurd Amtrak ‘track fees’
@fifimcfae SEPTA management is a crime scene. No.
State Reps are right to deny yet another year of a spending spree under the guise of ‘transit’. Having worked with SEPTA for years, you must stop allowing them to control the narrative.
@misiqsevici@uncreativetom@john14612115712 Worked in gvmt for many years, actually! It’s beyond disgusting. Light-touch regulation does work, but to say gvmt is a good referee is absurd.
Also you never answered my prior tweet in regards to why US has only a few permitted winners for airlines, cell companies, banks.
@DPearsonPHL Whoa there, keyboard warrior!
It’s a pretty big city, man and RTA is super reliable and efficient. They’ve had stadiums downtown for quite some time. Also, most people with families don’t want to live ‘downtown’ no matter where it is
@misiqsevici@uncreativetom@john14612115712 But Governments never keep corporations in check. Government creates and therefore loves monopolies. Why do we only have a few big airlines? Or a few manor mobile cell providers? Or a few major international banks? Government chooses winners that are politically friendly.
@misiqsevici@uncreativetom@john14612115712 Then I think you're part of the problem, as both break their own rues routinely. The people making the rules in both scenarios ignore rules they dislike. And neither wants to hear from people expressing concerns.
@uncreativetom@john14612115712 Uh you’re falsely assuming government cares about you, your life and is best suited to regulating technology. Gvmt creates nothing but debt
@Bob4Florida@mr_saltz See that’s your problem. Ever been to Tennessee? You should read what you write as you spit hate at people that have different opinions, lifestyles than you. And you’re not gonna unite anyone that way.
@phunnyphilly@chrisbriem You should look up Bennett Levin’s testimony in Harrisburg a few years ago. It’s on video somewhere. The dude is 1000% correct. https://t.co/vCafUIKCCq
@phunnyphilly@chrisbriem If transit agencies ran a better ship, weren’t cozy with favored contractors ran timely good service, didn’t bald face lie to the public, and were excellent stewards of tax dollars (Over 50 change orders and $400M for Key?) then they’d have more support.
@phunnyphilly@chrisbriem The electric buses were a middle finger to those in South Philly that showed up at meetings for when SEPTA refused to buy additional trackless trolleys, then let the substations fall into disrepair. SEPTA is a very spiteful agency. Fire 75% of management.
@phunnyphilly@chrisbriem It's purely for spite that SEPTA bought electric locomotives, as opposed to buying dual powered locomotives like a normal railroad. It's a middle finger to those wanting expansion! The same for those electric buses that ran for a few months then burned.
