@aaronsmith — or whether it’s more of a way to process everything that’s going on in the world (which, to be honest, is a pretty healthy way to cope!).
Would be really interested in your thoughts and perspective.
For what it’s worth, - I think that civil discourse is very important
@aaronsmith Hey Aaron
You’re one of the most passionate Labor supporters I know (you always end up on my feed), and I’ve always been curious — what drives that for you? You seem just as anti-Liberal as you are pro-Labor, and I’d love to understand why.
@aaronsmith Do you actually feel like any of this will make a big difference in the long run? How much of your time/energy goes into following and supporting it all?
I sometimes wonder whether being so engaged is something that genuinely changes outcomes
@outbreezyWC Makes sense that you’re an Eagles supporter. You couldn’t have watched any football before 1987 if you think there is anything wrong with this
@PhilIon08584109 @ChasinGhsts@HarrissAlec@scKizza@Grinchy007@SuperCoach_GOAT@AFL I think he’s just been highlighted as great over the last three seasons because Richmond has been great. He’s been elite for all long time, just Richmond hasn’t been as good and therefore not in the spotlight
@PhilIon08584109 @ChasinGhsts@HarrissAlec@scKizza@Grinchy007@SuperCoach_GOAT@AFL No doubt they’ve done it for longer - Dusty only made his debut in 2010! But he’s been incredibly consistent and durable. He’s basically averaged 25 touches and a goal a game for 7 seasons, and even averaged 20 touches and kicked 11 goals in his first season!
@PhilIon08584109 @ChasinGhsts@HarrissAlec@scKizza@Grinchy007@SuperCoach_GOAT@AFL I also genuinely think that a lot of Hawthorn supporters think Richmond winning premierships tarnishes their legacy in some way and therefore get salty about anything Richmond. Richmond being a good side doesn’t tarnish Hawthorns legacy. That Hawthorn side was great.
@PhilIon08584109 @ChasinGhsts@HarrissAlec@scKizza@Grinchy007@SuperCoach_GOAT@AFL The only clear argument you have is that B&F is open to a wider variety of positions and role players. Both Matthews and coaches awards have become midfielders awards also.
Franklin and Ablett are legends of the game but played a lot of great footy pre 2010.
@PhilIon08584109 @ChasinGhsts@HarrissAlec@scKizza@Grinchy007@SuperCoach_GOAT@AFL No one is saying they couldn’t play. Rubbishing an award or metric citing two or three examples when there are hundreds of counter examples is what I’m rubbishing - I’m rubbishing your logic and reasoning, not the fact that Carey, Ablett and Matthews were greats
