VRChat isn’t a dating app. It’s a social space where people gather around shared interests. When you come with the sole purpose of finding romance, you miss everything else VRChat has to offer.
You end up evaluating every conversation as “could this person be the one?” instead of genuinely enjoying the moment. That desperation shows, and it pushes people away.
This is for people who come to VRChat specifically looking for an "osatou" (romantic VR partner). https://t.co/A85gUGeUMQ @hiro124_VRCより
Full-body tracking essentially means that your body is performing through someone else’s character design. This creates two layers of rights: the visual rights of the avatar creator and the performance rights of the person moving.
For casual VRChat use, this distinction doesn’t matter much. But for commercial performances, professional streaming, or theatrical works in VR, understanding who owns what becomes critically important.

Crowdfunding Is Investment, Not Shopping
The fundamental misunderstanding is that crowdfunding is treated like a store. It’s not. It’s investment with risk. The product might never ship. It might ship late. It might not match the promises.
For everyday items, that risk might be acceptable. But for full tracking devices — specialized equipment where compatibility, precision, and reliability matter enormously — the risk is too high.

The skills I’ve developed through VRChat are real and transferable. Event management, content creation, community building, technical troubleshooting, public speaking — all practiced in a lower-stakes environment that allows experimentation and failure.
The connections I’ve made are genuine. People I met as avatars have become real friends. We’ve shared honest conversations that might never have happened face-to-face, precisely because the avatar medium creates a unique kind of honesty.
The perspective shift is profound. Spending time in VR, where appearance is chosen and bodies are optional, fundamentally changes how you think about identity, communication, and human connection.

This is the sequel to “I Can’t Recommend Full Tracking If You Just Say ‘I Want to Dance'” and “VR Theater and Dance — Can You Put Your Movements into Words?”
This time, I’m writing about choosing full-body tracking for music creators and people who don’t move much. DJs, VJs, rappers, instrument players, and electronic wind instrument players. These groups often operate in quite unique environments within VRChat.
